Owner description: The Other Tour offers unique one day cultural experiences in Istanbul. It has 1 aim: to get people into real Turkish environments. Our mission is to provide curious, open minded travelers with the opportunity to discover how Turkish people live and thrive in Istanbul. Away from typical tourist attractions, we dive deep into Istanbul (a city of over 16 million people) to immerse ourselves in the lives of local residents. During this guided adventure our Turkish neighbors open their hearts and homes to us, sharing with us their customs and traditions.

Granted it was a cold and wet day with only two of us in the group, the promised variety of activities did not realize. The guides, Fethi and Murat, speak excellent English, they are determined to show you a different Istanbul. Maybe if there were more of us in the group, it would have been more interesting. We visited a... More

His hair was wild, his language was foul, and his knowledge was vast and varied. I liked Fethi immediately. My man and I had Fethi and Murat to ourselves on The Other Tour. It was a miserably cold day, and I was miserably ill, out time in Turkey was short so we soldiered through. We made Fethi and Murat work... More

My wife and I took the Other tour in July 2014 (not sure why it has taken me so long to write a review). It was everything the other reviewers say it is and more. You will miss out on a critical part of what Istanbul is about and, what makes it cool, if all you do is see the... More

The Other Tour lives up to it´s name. As promised, it is an experience rather than a simple excursion. Instead of the usual blah-blah you´d get with a standard tour guide, Fethi challenges you to actively participate and not only hear about the history but actually make some history happen! It´s a head on experience where you´ll use all of... More

I went on The Other Tour a week ago with my cousin. She came to visit me, when I already stayed in Istanbul for a month. She found the tour on the internet, suggesting it would be a nice opportunity to get a feeling for the city in a short amount of time, since she only had a few days... More

My wife and I shared a wonderful day (and evening) with Fethi and his crew. As adventurous 50 somethings we embraced the day with great enthusisam and were not disappointed. We were granted the keys to the other side of Istanbul - the glitz, the glamour, the history and the warts and all view. it was extraordinary and a life... More

The Other Tour offered a look into Istanbul that most tourists would not likely be able to experience. My wife and I went in November during the slow season and were the only ones on the tour so it offered a one-on-one feel. We weren't planning on visiting the Asian side of Istanbul so it was appreciated to take the... More

As the only clients on the day my husband and I spent a fabulous day and evening on a personalised tour, witnessing the real Istanbul; learning about the recent history (well past century) which has moulded this country into its present state; visited some amazing places; partook in local events (market, hamam and school visits)and cuisine( beautiful lunch by Fethi's... My family and I were in Istanbul for 2 days and wanted to do something a little different and more personal. We really enjoyed the day with Fethi and Murat, touring some unconventional spaces in the city. I'd been to Istanbul once before and The Other Tour gave me an alternate and contemporary perspective on this unique historical space. Would... More

Skip the rest of daily city tours and definitely have this. You will be treated like locals and learn the undiscovered parts of local life in terms of culinary and culture. We also have friends during our tour and exchanged ideas about life. Thats oen of a kind tour that needs to be explored.
