The Other Tour offers unique one day cultural experiences in Istanbul. Our mission is to provide curious, open minded travelers with the opportunity to discover how Turkish people live and thrive in Istanbul. Away from typical tourist attractions, we dive deep into Istanbul (a city of over 16 million people) to immerse ourselves in the lives of local residents. During this guided adventure our Turkish neighbors open their hearts and homes to us, sharing with us their customs and traditions.

I booked "the Other Tour" for my husband and myself before we left Australia. We were already going to be doing a tour of Istanbul a few days later with our tour group and thought this would be a good way to see something other than the main sites. We were not disappointed. Fehti met us on time and off... More

On my two week trip through turkey, Istanbul was my last stop. I worked my way from sunny, touristy Antalya up to the 21 metropol Istanbul and first was totally overwhelmed by the size it. Of course, the central areas of the city u can easily work yourself through as a tourist. But I didn’t want and couldn’t believe that... More

Due to the son storm we had to interrupt our tour and agreed to continue the next day. However, we already pre-payed for the full tour. For some reason Fethi, the tour leader, did not show up the next day and did not answer our phone calls. A few hours later he send an email saying he is sick and... More

Hello everyone. We believe that this review is written by someone who did NOT actually join the tour. Here are some of the evidence: - A few days before this review was published, another one with the same story was published by someone named Caroline who actually did join The Other Tour in February 2015 and then wrote a 1... I met Murat, Fethi's brother who couldn't lead the tour because Fethi was sick. We were three, one couple and me. After spent three hours together, walked through nice places and streets that tourists don't know, and had nice breakfast together, we were suddenly only two, Murat and me. The couple decided suddenly to leave the tour. So we continued... More

In three decades of international travel, I have never experienced a tour so at odds with my expectations. After a few days of reflection, I think I can help you avoid a similar experience. First, I should say we left the tour after three hours. Three hours of nothingness. It was "led" by a substitute guide, as Fethi was sick... More

Simply the best tour I have ever been on.... Information and experience dripping with personality and energy... Istanbul is a whopper city of more than 20 million people.. So to try and see it in a day is fool-hardy but by golly did our tour guides give it a good go... We had a packed itinerary that wasn't just fulfilled... More

It was clear from the first few minutes that we were in for a very different experience. Fethi and Murat led us through about 8 different neighborhoods and some of their favorite hidden spots of Istanbul. The day is very flexible, and as long as you go with a willing-to-do-anything attitude, you will enjoy your day. There is plenty of... More

Fethi and Murat were an amazing team. The tour with them doesn't seem like a tour but like hanging out with your mates exploring different parts of Istanbul. Basically, come with an open mind and go with the flow. Literally, over the Bosphorus river and onto the asian side. Tell them what you want to do and you'll get to... More

Granted it was a cold and wet day with only two of us in the group, the promised variety of activities did not realize. The guides, Fethi and Murat, speak excellent English, they are determined to show you a different Istanbul. Maybe if there were more of us in the group, it would have been more interesting. We visited a... More

His hair was wild, his language was foul, and his knowledge was vast and varied. I liked Fethi immediately. My man and I had Fethi and Murat to ourselves on The Other Tour. It was a miserably cold day, and I was miserably ill, out time in Turkey was short so we soldiered through. We made Fethi and Murat work... More
