Lacking the usual tourist horde, Besiktas is a fascinating neighbourhood, worth roaming around for an hour or so. You can see here how the Istanbulians live, and you may learn here more about the city’s atmosphere than at Taksim or any other touristic area. This district is home to the famous die-hard Turkish soccer club Besiktas J.K., so you will... More

Lots of restaurants and trendy shops around the seafront and a really nice atmosphere creates a great environment to gain a little of peace in this crazy city. The best access would be by the sea to avoid the huge traffic of the area but you can go early and enjoy the day... More

Besiktas is my favorite place in Istanbul. There is a small street with breakfast-places worth to go in the morning. In center there is a fish-market with lots of Fish-restaurants behind it. Further you should try one of the Katik place. On sea-side you can sit comfortably and eat seeds or you can go to Barbaros café to the roof... More

At the moment skaters using this square as an skate-yard but you still can see some old canons and a monument around the square and some bars and cafes around. Nothing more.
