At the moment skaters using this square as an skate-yard but you still can see some old canons and a monument around the square and some bars and cafes around. Nothing more.
I decided to spend my last 2 weeks in Istanbul staying in Besiktas. Its fantastic! Great hives of shops, cafes and restaurants behind the mosque and ferry area makes it feel like a very happening place. If you wander down for dinner you will be amazed how many people are out eating and socialising (after 8pm expect to queue for... More
We wrnt there with my girlfriend there are s lot of thingd to do a lot of bars and the prices are very okey ! Must see ! We enjoyed being there
Lovely stroll along the Bosphorus on a sunday afternoon. This is the day off for most locals so the pier is full of families, couples and people all enjoying their day off. Great way to soak up the local atmosphere. There are some very nice cheap restaurants as well nearby and also some great shopping at much cheaper prices than... More

You can drink one or two beer at the restaurants by the sea or inside the ‘Çarşı’. Most of the people around you will be university students. Prices of... More

Nice area, busy as residential with a few shops. Worth a visit to see how the city works. dont spend too long though.
Usually very crowded, not much to see in touristical means, just few statues and a park. But it's one of the most active business centers of Istanbul, you can get to almost any part of Istanbul by bus or ferries from Besiktas.
We went there after seeing Domabahce palace. I think the beauty of this district was magnified after coming out of a magnificent old-styled palace, to see the modern, real working class neighborhood. There are many small eatries, clothing shops and stores and a very hustling bustling traffic. This is also the home to the Beşiktaş Jimnastik Kulübü or Besiktas gymnastics... More
