A fantastic 4 hour snapshot of Istanbul's jewels!

Arif gave us an overview of Istanbul's iconic buildings, its history, answered our questions & finished the 4 hour walking tour with a fabulous meal, that we all enjoyed.

Our guide, Hal , was dragging our very tired bodies around Istanbul after we arrived early that morning, following the Robbie Williams concert in Moscow the night before. So, needless to say, he needed to be great to keep our attention…..he was! We began in the old city with a cup of Turkish coffee in a beautiful park nearby, where... More

Arif handled every aspect of my family visit to Istanbul. Although the pickup service from the airport to the hotel was a little iffy as the person didn't speak English, every other aspect of the trip was above and beyond. We used Arif for two half day tours and a full day tour. Arif was incredibly knowledgeable about every historic... More

We traveled to Istanbul on a cruise ship. I did not want to pay the outrageous fees for tours onboard, so I did some TripAdvisor investigation, and found Arif's tours! We REALLY lucked out. Our guide was with us on foot and in the private car the whole way! We visited the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Roman Hippodrome,... More

We used this company for a walking tour. Our guide was keen to explain so much, but was gracious enough to pause and answer our questions. The important point to remember is that he is giving his time and has an agenda but the guide should allow maximum flexibility. This tour is a good intro to this historic city.

We were provided with Murat, perhaps THE best guide you can imagine. He was educated, personable, and interesting. We could barely tear ourselves away from him when our tour program was over. You MUST use Arif Yasa for providing private guiding and you will be VERY lucky if you get Murat as your guide!

I did not know where to start when starting to reseach tour advisors in Turkey . So I started emailing the ones that had the best rating . Arif stood out right away with his prompt responses and unique itenirary . Upon arriving to the airport ,we wore greeted by a driver who transported us to meet out tour guide... More

I have traveled all over the world for the past 42 years. I have never met a guide like Murat. Perfect English, smart, intelligent, kind and sweet. We had him for two days and saw everything you could possibly think of in Istanbul. BTW he reaches English in Istanbul. I highly recommend Arif Yasa-Private Tours and ask for Murat.

Fantastic tour with Hal. Organisation was easy and our guide was able to help us understand not only the history and culture but also a great insight to life in Istanbul. I will go back and will book another tour via Arif. I have seen tour guides in other cities rushing their groups around without stopping to listen to their... More

We wouldn't normally use a private guide as we're experienced travellers who prefer to go at our own pace with a Lonely Planet guidebook or similar. But we thought we'd try something different and are glad we did. Communication prior to the start of the trip was easy - Arif always replied within 24 hours. We had 5 nights/4 days... More

Staying in Sisli

Neighborhood Profile
Sisli
For much of Istanbul’s history, Sisli and the area just north of Taksim Square were open countryside used mostly as hunting grounds. These days, Sisli and its chic streets are considered the very heart of contemporary Istanbuli life, where an epicenter of fashion and a thriving business district meet to create an expressly “downtown” feel. Though largely a residential neighborhood, luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and upscale shops abound with many of them situated inside or nearby Cevahir Istanbul, the biggest shopping mall in Europe and second biggest urban shopping mall in the world. Shopaholics and fashionistas travel from near and far to browse the area's mix of major global brand items and creations by popular Turkish designers.
