We sought out this business in Istanbul because of the reviews of other travelers. The experience was excellent. The prices are not bargain basement, but the products we bought are of excellent quality and a source of enjoyment every day now that we are home. The staff was friendly, knowledgable, and not even slightly pushy. We also found good experiences... More

I brought back quite a bit from my trip to Istanbul, but one of my favorite items are the towels that I purchased from Jennifer's Hamam. Though they may have been quite a bit pricier than the towels I would've purchased from any one of the towel or bath shops in the Grand Bazaar, the quality, by far, is superior.... More

It's more than easy to find overpriced, mediocre goods of questionable provenance in Istanbul - especially in the tourist-heavy Sultanahmet area, where unfortunately most visitors will do their shopping. It's even easier, however, to avoid falling into this predicament: Shop for your Turkish treasures at Jennifer's Hamam. The goods here are the real deal, ethically sourced from real Turkish family... High-quality range, very well displayed in an attractive and well-lit shop (maybe deserves to be described as a boutique). Situated close to the Blue Mosque but in an area that it would be easy to miss. It is on the Bosphorus side of the mosque and near the start of a whole alleyway of great shops.

I found this shop in the Arasta Bazaar in the Sultanahamet district of Istanbul. The whole bazaar was a pleasure (much less chaotic than the Grand Bazaar and better quality items) to walk through but this shop was one of it's highlights. The proprietor, Jennifer, runs the shop. She and her staff were very hospitable, glad to explain the history... More

I've been to Istanbul many times and have experienced the 'hard sell' on occasion; 'Jennifer's Hamam' was quite the opposite: welcoming and low key. Of course, they want/need to sell, what shopkeeper doesn't? Her organic, hand-loomed towels can't be compared with the non-organic, machine made knock offs seen elsewhere; the support given to families of weavers is a great achievement,... More

I was interested in buying some authentic Turkish towels and had looked at plenty at the Grand Bazaar; however, wasn't convinced of their authenticity. When I got back to our hotel I did some research and read that Jennifer's Hamam in the Arasta Bazaar was the place to go. The next day I met up with some friends who had... More

I've purchased pestamels online from Jennifer's Hamam. The product is beautiful - all organic materials, made on old-style shuttled looms, all Turkish workmanship. I order from Jennifer's because I notice the difference between the machine-made weavings that are becoming prevalent, and those that are made by hand. I appreciate the store's commitment to the weavers and the craft. I look... More

I wanted to bring gifts back from Istanbul. Thank goodness i did a bit of internet research at home! Discovered our hotel was only a 5 min walk from Jennifer's Hamam! We went there on our first morning and found a wonderful selection of towels, wraps, scarves in a variety of sizes and colours. Everything was beautifully made and Jennifer... More
