Jennifer’s Hamam. Arista Bazaar. Istanbul, Turkey. My husband and I recently made a return visit to Turkey to celebrate my birthday. I had spent a lot of time in Turkey over nearly 20 years in the business of importing and selling exceptional hand-made things from various parts of the world. In Turkey I bought kilim rugs, as well as all... More

Before going in a three week 'jaunt' around Turkey, we spent a few days in Istanbul. We visited one of Jennifer's shops. We decided to return on our last day in Turkey to buy towelsnfornus and r daughters, a bedspread and some peshtemels. It was wonderful to shop without pressure and to know that prices are fixed. We also had... More

Located in the Arasta Bazaar behind the Blue Mosque, this store is packed to the rafters with beautiful hand woven towels. I bought 2 bath towels. Well worth the investment as thy are made to last for up to 30 years and feel wonderful.

such a great experience a real highlight of my trip! I was greeted by a lovely salesman Hadji..(excuse spelling if incorrect) in the Jennifer's Hamam store located in the Arasta Bazaar (look for Canadian flag on window) where he shared his great knowledge pertaining to the product they sell. I stopped seeing the towels the robes the scarf as mear... More

We have looked for unlooped cotton or linen towels for years - and here they are! Beautiful organic (certified) cotton, in beautiful colours big enough to wrap around your body. The selling staff are pleasant and knowledgeable and Jennifer was helpful and lovely to talk to. If you love towels, you cannot miss this store.

I went to the store at the Arasta Bazaar, the friendly salesman walked me a few blocks away to the beautiful 4 floors of towels. I bought huge towels, hand towels, was towels and kitchen towels. The are soft, luxurious and beautiful. Jennifer was very helpful and gave me instructions for washing.

One of my aims while visiting Istanbul was to purchase great quality towels, and after doing some research on the internet before arriving, my husband and I visited Jennifer's Hamam in the Arasta Bazaar (we did look at other shops for comparison). We were guided to the new larger showroom, where we were fortunate to meet the lovely Jennifer who... More

Having read the Trip Advisor reviews we headed straight for Arasta bazaar to find this shop and it is full or lovely things and they now have opened a large showroom a few minutes walk from the Bazaar which they will take you to. But after spending a few days in Istanbul we found other excellent hamam towel shops, less... More

Thank you for taking the time to share your views with the world. You are correct about there being cheaper places to shop. We sadly have no way to compete on price with small factory production pieces, which is what ever other shop in Turkey is selling. True there are very nice designs in many shops and we would like... My mother, sister and I had a wonderful time buying Jennifer's Turkish Towels. We bought so many we had to ship them back to the states. If your ever in Istanbul do not miss the experience.

In our busy world today, so many things go unnoticed. YOU took the time to listen, notice and make a real difference in the life of many weaving artisans by making the effort to write this review. I, but more importantly the weavers, thank you for your patronage and your support. Without you, the art of weaving would die in... More

I would like to give great thanks to Hajji (with apologies for spelling, perhaps), who was manning store 135 today. He helped me to pick out some good pestamel towels, and was very patient with his first customer of the day. He also gave good advice on where to buy the next item on my shopping list.

I and especially the weavers would like to thank you for your efforts to share your experience with the world. These artisans are completely reliant on your word of mouth advertising to help spread the word about their world. Although they never have a chance to meet you, they are constantly asking me to thank all the wonderful people who... More
