i like the Historic Areas, specially the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Sultan Ahmed Mosque and Topkapi Palac. If you want to visit Turkey must visit the Historic Areas , and i dislike the overcrowding people.

Yes, see the mosques, but also visit museums, Grand Bazaar, Turkish Baths, Camlica Hill, Cistern Basilica. I was there also in 1998 and Istanbul has grown, become even more modern and cosmopolitan than it was then.

Istanbul is a must visit. It is so fabulous. There is so much to see. There is so much to do. There service is head and shoulders above the service you typically get in in other European countries.

Taxi drivers are not reliable. Also buy your museum pass for 3 days. Use cash tellers not exchange offices - you will save in fees.

Istanbul is a charming mix of east & west and old & modern. The historical sites are stunning, the food is delicious and the shopping addictive! The locals were friendly, helpful and welcoming. A definite must visit place!
