Place to relax

Lots of nice stuff to browse, good book selection, some 'art' . However the Highlight is the cafe - an oasis of calm if you want to avoid the shopping

You're ambushed by colors the moment you step into this fun shop. It's hard not to smile as you walk by clothes, books, stuffed animals, art, and souvenirs all brashly asking you to look at their riot of colors. I bought a nice pair of red light cotton beach pants and my wife bought colorful makeup travel bags. My 14... More

you can buy some souvenirs in this shop, but mostly you'll find clothes. everything has a fixed price, so there is thankfully no need to bargain. give it a try. ;)

The range of items available was very good, i.e., books, small items, clothes as well many other types of items. My attention was taken by the colorful items made out of cloth material. Prices of some items might be little higher than in other places. However, it provides a convenience of parking spaces, air conditioning (and if hungry after shopping... More

The quality of goods at barefoot is excellent... The design is hip and cool. Very colourful items, reflecting the identity of Sri Lanka. You can find a wide range of souvenirs to chose from... And the fact that this shop encourages the locals and the products are locally made by Sri Lankans gives a sense of relief that the money... More

The court yard with jazz on Sunday, makes this a great place to visit for tourist, the food choices can be revamped to include more vegetarian choices but the overall experience was positive. I love shopping at barefoot the colors, fabrics and products are a bit expensive but worth it.

I'm all for helping to preserve the skills of local artisans and this shop is an outlet primarily for homewares made by cottage industry. The amazing colours of the textiles combined with the homespun textures make the table linens irresistible. If you are a 'conventional shape' you will also find lovely coloured clothes to fit. More top-end prices, but the... More
