A very quiet nice temple situated very close to the Isipathana boys school and right in front of the BRC club, Colombo 5. A temple very conveniently accessed and worshiped by the Buddhist community in Colombo.

The colours in this temple are outstanding! The Temple is fairly compact and the large sculptures seem to be cramped albeit that they are gorgeous and colourful. A great experience!
This place is like an Aladdin's cave. It is full of wonderful ornaments, art and other valuable pieces. There are fantastic Buddha statues throughout the temple. I was not happy about seeing the elephant chained up though :(
Don't bother if you are interested in the great Buddist philosophy. This is more like Buddism meets Disney Land.

This is a great temple with lots of pictures and carvings. It also has a large dagaba and a large shrine room called viharaya. I have my respects to this great shrine , specially because it is so close to the shcool I attended.
For over several decades my family has been visiting this temple regularly. To me it is my " family temple" and actually no where else matches up close. Lovely on a normal weekday during sunset, absolutely peaceful. Avoid poya days if you are looking for peace, it is a whole different experience then
