Close enough to UB to be able to visit for one night. A great and easy place to go in the steppe. Stay in a ger and try to spot the wild Takhi horses. Beautiful place.

The park has amazing geological features including valleys and awesome rock formations. Make sure you check out turtle rock. There are lots of... More

The monastery, with their "Burma Shave" style dharma signs was a nice touch. the mountains are lovely and the overall scenery was also a joy.

We did not go deeply into the park, but the country is beautiful and dodging the herds as they cross the roads is a helpful reminder that pastoral nomadism is alive and well on the steppe. Don't expect a polished East Asian temple complex from what they call the "meditation temple" but it has good spirit and will give you... More

The valley itself is awesome, different kind of rocks than other parts of Mongolia and several cool remarks like turtle rock or the buddist monastery, but you may be warned that is not an empty valley, you will see it ready for tourist as there are several camps on it, as well as some cars, but of course is nothing...
