Make sure you make it to the Khongor Els, the large singing dunes in the Gobi. You can rent cheap cars through the agency gobitours.com. We stayed with a local family for 5 dollars a night. In summer it can be really hot. We went in October but it was still really nice at this time. October is the end... More

Rode a camel to the area where the Dinosaur bones were found in 1924. Seeing the land scape in the photos then to live it was awesome. More

We recently spent time trekking on camels through the Gobi, from one camp site to the next. We learned a lot! Our camels were well behaved and led by experienced camel "wrangles", so we were off to a good start. We were fortunate in that the weather, which had been very hot, turned cloudy and breezy. First things first. The... More

Take a trip from Ulaambaatar to the Gobi desert by jeep . Bad roads, exciting experience. Stay two nights in a camp, visiting the nomadic people, some Budhist temples ! What an experience ! Be prepared to a stay without a shower in a fancy tent ( "yourtes") , but with an encounter to a kind of life no one... More

It was in July when I flew from Israel to Mongolia from my summer 2011 trips. I had a very exquisite and positive experience in my visit to Mongolia. I spent a 10 days (including the plane travel) in Mongolia. July is the best time to go. It's summer and the blue sky is everywhere...being known as the Blue Sky... More

In august 2010, we (11 young French people) made a 8 days tour with Golden Gobi in the Gobi desert. Two guides drove us through fantastic landscapes like the Khongorin els sand dunes, Flaming Cliffs, the Gobi steppes … We had great contacts with people living in the desert, slept in Mongolian yurts, shared excellent diners with nomadic families. Camel... More
