I visited Buddha Park several times in the late 1990s and early 2000s. To my knowledge, it was built by a Laotian monk/priest named Luang Pu (Venerable Grandfather) Bunleua Sulilat. I visited Laos in 08 and it was one of the most fascinating holidays for me. The journey to Buddha Park was one amazing journey there as we rented a motorcycle in Vientiane and made our journey to Buddha Park. The bikes only costed US$7.00 per day. Visited the Park in late December 2009. We took the local bus (14?) which was packed and really I enjoyed as much as Buddha Park. ( I quite like taking local buses rather than tour buses but I know this mode of transport does not suit everyone.) It would probably be a reasonable bike ride as well! The park is... more

This is a park about ten acres in size with a lot of concrete statues that are about fifty years old. It is an attempt to show both Buddism and Hinduism in the same setting.
