The Buddha Park isn't really a must see so if you are short on time you're better off focusing on the sites in town itself. However if you spend 2.5 days in the city, like we did, this place should definitely on your tick-off list. It is a good forty minute ride out of town (not the most comfortable one... More

Though I took a lot of photos of what was there at Buddha Park; it was in a deplorable state. Whoever built and laid the Statues that are place there, owe the People of Lao a great Apology for such a Disgrace. Sugesstion: Have a few great structures of the Buddha in impressive forms in strategic parts of the Park.... More

This was part of our day tour so I can't comment on pricing/difficulty to get here as we had a driver - it's about 25k out of the city. Road was in reasonable shape other than than very last bit which was under construction. On the way out, or back, be sure to take a quick look at the newly... More

We were glad we went, but honestly it seemed like someone's bad dream turned into sculptures. Interesting that someone would do thus, but nothing spectacular.

The first comment of 6,000 kip bus fare sounds very tempting to miss so we decided to have a go at it. We found out later that this fare is only up to the terminal and that you have to ride another smaller vehicle to reach the park with a fare between 50 to 80 thousand kip. The park itself... More

As we were little tired of temples, we liked a different program, The Buddha park is +/- 25km from Vientiane, we rented a motorbike to go there, there is no signs in the road, so it is necessary GPS of the google maps to get there safe, with that, we got there easy, the road is not finished yet, but... LIKES: 1)The effort the founder put in to build the park. 2)Located near the river, so air is good. 3)Reasonable entrance fee DISLIKES: 1)Location is too far from city 2)Poor road condition from city to the park. 3)Some tuk-tuk operators ask ridiculous price (US$100/person) for the 24km approx. trip!!!

To get there we took a tuk tuk from the city centre. The driver showed us 250,000kip on his card but we bargained down to 170,000 for 2ppl. It was not as bumpy as a ride as we thought. Some construction but nothing too bad! Also got the chance to take some beautiful pictures while in the tuk tuk driving... More

Buddha Park really is an odd fusion of Buddhist and Hindu iconography. It's strange but it's a bit of a laugh too. about 30 minutes on a bus to friendship bridge then a a short tuk tuk ride, don't pay more than 20,000 kip per person return. You'll only need an hour there, so you can go in the morning... More
