As I have said before there is not a lot to see in Vientiane but this temple is probably one of the main attractions. A 'must see' in the capital and a good photo opportunity as well.

This is a really nice place to visit and you can cycle there its very easy. Best time is just before sunset where you see the locals enjoying the grounds. The laying Buddha was under repair so I was unable to get a clear view.

Big place with well kept buildings that are a pleasure to visit.
Good pictures if you go after lunch.

A small market outside sells irrelevant tourist products. There are half a dozen buildings and well worth walking around, will ate about an hour. Highlight it the painted ceilings inside the buildings - intricate work.

Watch out for their lunch break. They close the place. No need tour. Just hire a tuk tuk there.
