Owner description: The Flicks Community Movie Houses are the really unique locations in Phnom Penh where you can enjoy the blockbusters, documentaries and the classics on a big wide screen, in "uber-comfy" air conditioned movie rooms, from before there were big cineplexes. The Flicks are the ONLY legit movie houses in town also, fully approved by the Ministry of Culture and the Cambodian Department of Cinema. The Flicks 1 on Street 95 is the legendary movie house from the time there was no other big screen in town, located in an original wooden Cambodian house and features an all air conditioned bar and a leafy outside terrace. Its movie room seats 30 people. The Flicks 2 is its little brother in the city center and also screens the must-see movie for all visitors, The Killing Fields, daily in its 20 seats movie room. The Flicks 3 is the latest 30-seats venue on Street 258, which also features a restaurant and guesthouse. Enjoy your movies for only $3.50 Per day, with a drink, snacks and homemade fresh popcorn!

Love this place! This is a relaxed, low-key hang-out with great movies, friendly staff and large glasses of wine. I've spent numerous hours here, watching all kinds of movies (foreign, documentary, classic etc). The air-con is lovely, the staff will happily order food for you, and the couches and futons are comfy. The tickets cost $3.50 PER DAY- making it... More

A/C lounge with large projector displaying new and old flicks. We were there for the Season 3 Game of Thrones Marathon and enjoyed all 6 hours of it.

I've lived in Phnom Penh for three years and have lost count of the number of hours I've spent at The Flicks. Not only is it a unique and laid-back place to watch films -- ranging from foreign to classic to contemporary releases -- it's a meeting place for expats from around the world. Congenial owner and operator, Ramon, is... More

The flicks is the best place to watch movies in phnom penh, always a friendly welcome. Really comfortable (I always lie on the mats - kinda like watching a movie in bed!) Can order dinner from muma's to eat during the movie, and awesome popcorn too - all great value. The cats are an important part of the visit. Piri-piri... More

I just moved to Phnom Penh and didn't know anybody. The Flicks served a dual purpose for me of keeping me current on the most recent season of Game of Thrones and being a cool, low key place to meet other expats and start seeing familiar faces every week. Plus, where else do you get to lounge and watch the... More

Walking in to The Flicks is definitely my favorite way to escape the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh. The theater is intimate, the cushions and chairs are comfortable, the beer is cold, and the popcorn is delicious. And to top it off, the owner has a keen eye for selecting current and classic movies that appeal to all tastes.... More

I really like going to cinema to see the latest releases and some classics on the big screen and I have been to many of the commercial chains both at home and in Cambodia as well as some specialist cinema but I had never been to community movie house. The flicks is excellent it is the prefect combination of big... More

This is a community, entertainment hub and unique Phnom Penh experience where the staff always make you feel welcome. They've rolled out the red carpet and the bar / lounge is a great place for a pre or post movie drink with plenty of art and quirky posters on the walls, air con and music. The cinema itself is comfortable... More

As someone who lives in Phnom Penh, this is a great getaway. The atmosphere inside is perfectly comfortable with mattresses and couches. The movie is projected onto a bigger screen (not the size of a movie theater but it is PLENTY big for the size of the room!) Air conditioned and you can order food and drinks (a little overpriced... A great place to watch some great films. I watched 2 films here while I was in PP and both were superb. Both festival films that it would be hard (or impossible) to find at traditional cinemas. You can lounge in mattresses or, if you for some reason prefer to be upright, there are couches too. $3.50 buys you entrance... More
