Kanika has recently changed owner and the French gentleman in charge has advertised for the "uplifting" of its standards. True: there are cold cuts and cheese on board. But how do you enjoy them when there is no bread on board.? We were the only two clients for dinner and had made a proper reservation in the morning. The explanation... More

My relatives and I took the sunset cruise on this nice floating restaurant, which boards at Himawari Hotel. The cruise starts at 5 pm sharp. It was great and we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The sunset view was stunning and just amazingly beautiful. We also get to see the livelihood of the floating villagers on the other side... More

Like the "bateau mouche" in Paris, in Phnom Penh you hop on a beautiful refurbished french boat, with a pleasant and helpful staff for a cruise of one hour and a half to explore the capital of Cambodia from another angle: floating village, away view of the city, that for the sunset, it's beautiful! and more with a very affordable... I really loved being collected by the tuk tuk and delivered to a really beautiful hotel to walk down the ramp to board the Kanika for our dinner with views. The food was fresh and delightful. It was a great introduction to typical Cambodian food. We had a few cocktails also, they were well made and very reasonable. The Meekong... More

We decided to go on a sunset cruise in Phnom Penh. Lots of operators trying to get tourists onto their boats. Jean Pierre Freneau's Kanika boat tour was absolutely brilliant. A quiet cruise along the shore line of Phnom Penh, with well presented food, a four course dinner, great service and a wide range of drinks to choose from. Book... More

We thought it a good idea to have dinner on the river one night, so we called ahead to make a reservation for the Kanika (closed on Monday). When we got there we were not sure what was wrong because the boat was deserted. As it turned out we were the only two guess that night and its a really... More
