It was such a pity when we got to the top of the mountain by motorbike, after a beautiful drive, to find a disgusting casino/hotel resort where there should have been more trees/wildlife. There seems to be a lot of construction going on in the national park which is ruining the beauty of it and turning it into some kind... More

Luckily I read the reviews before going on this trip and we hired a scooter for the day. We had an amazing experience, enjoying the historical sights and the views (and dare I say it, the new casino for a snack, and immaculate toilets). The road is the best I have seen in Cambodia, and as someone said earlier, if... More

Got sucked into the "must do" Bokor tour and remain baffled what there is here that makes it so good?? The so called ruins are a bunch of hideous 20th century buildings that were better off not being built in the first place. The only thing of note is the church yet the interior is hideously graffitied as are most... More

The location of Bokor National Park is a 2 hour drive from Phnom Penh. The place is amazing with attractions to go and see. Water fall: There isn't much water following out of the water fall due to low rain fall but it is nice to go and see. There is a restaurant that you can go and relax and... More

Some interesting reviews with regards to this attraction. We unfortunately were in a tour group, so the ride up was long and winding, and I got a bit bus sick. the views from the top are certainly worth it, we could see the whole coastline plus vietnam. The waterfall was unimpressive, but it is the dry season...it would be amazing... More

I would have been horribly disappointed if I had taken a tour to the top. There was nothing to see. The old casino seemed like just an empty, modern concrete building. Nothing special at all. The church wasn't very exciting and took about 2 minutes to see. The waterfall was one of the least impressive that I've seen in Cambodia.... More

It seems that reviews are polarized on this trip, some people loved it for the road-trip and the views of South east Cambodia (and even Vietnam on a clear day). Some people hated it because of the huge amount of construction going on there. Personally I belong to the first group, I hired a motorbike and went off exploring with... More

Many reports are now out of date, with the old French casino now stripped back to bare concrete and looking like a part finished modern building, extensive forest clearance, 5km across, a network of new roads, casino, hotel, housing, and an industrial scale shed within 30m of the waterfall. The church still looks good from the outside, but the other... More

This mountain is great. Hire a moto from kampot and head over the old bridge toward it. You will get there and back (with some extra exploring) easily on $2-3 of petrol (a full tank in a scooter). You pay entry at the bottom ($1 or so) and have a scenic ride up (watch out for cars cutting corners, generally... More

This area is now owned by a Cambodian $billionaire, which is the only way this national park will stay protected. We had a bit of trouble getting past the security guards at the foot of the mountain, which delayed our start up the mountain road. Once underway we wove our way up through the jungle on a tarmac road. First... More
