This market established along the banks of the river was an interesting mix of sights, sounds, and smells. All types of vegetables and seafood were on display for sale. And the water taxis were continually picking up & delivering customers.

Kianggeh is an open air wet market where traditional handy craft, ornaments, herbs spices, driedfood as well as fresh veggies, fish and fruits are sold. You can stay at Brunei Hotel which is a walk distance to Kianggeh. From there you can enjoy the early Friday morning busy market, water taxiing passengers across the river. You can ride the taxi... My wife and I visit local markets at every opportunity - and we really enjoyed our visit to the Open Air Market. It's predominantly a food market - but gives a great sense of the local food eaten in the area - and everything appeared so fresh. It was great to interact with the locals too. Also, from the market... More

Well, its open market for locals. Dirty, Smelly and many times crowded. Nothing special for tourists, unless you're big fan of these.

Myriad stalls selling fresh seafood, fruits and vegetables frequented by the local population. A great reflection of local life!

The Kianggeh Open Air Market is best visited before 10 am. As the weather in Brunei is hot, most local does their marketing early in the morning. It open as early at 5:30 am. Even though it open daily, the best time to drop by is over the weekend where the market is crowded with local and foreigners. Is there... More

A local market by the river. If you are attracted to Bruneian delicacies then you might stay a little longer otherwise you just take a couple of photos and go.

Only fruit and vegetable will be available. If you are looking for the local food might disappointed you as not much choice indeed. The sellers usually have difference "selling price" on the buyers especially for the foreigner.

Interesting to see if you are interested in local veggies, sweets and some food to take away. Located traditionally next to the channel. Might be a fun short walk.
