We've done a river cruise with Mark and Wann. They are a really friendly couple who make the best out of your trip. We came especially for the proboscis monkey and we've seen many. They just know where to find them. It was amazing. We've seen all the things we wished for. Even the small animals which we never would... More

Well worth a morning or afternoon. A good boat driver will help you find monkeys, crocodiles and monitor lizards. The mangroves are an amazing sight.

This is one thing I really wanted to see during my 2 day stopover in Brunei. Established that the best time to visit was a couple of hours before sunset and so found myself on the docks about that time where I simply hired a water taxi (cost B$30 and I paid the driver an extra B$20 to stay on... We were with friends at the waterfront and were very nicely approached by Wann, who co-owns a boat and tour company with her husband Mark. She had credentials to show us that she is trained and certified (by the Brunei Tourism Board, I believe), and we agreed on a reasonable price of BD40 for six of us to go on... More

We tried to book a mangrove tour through our hotel but the hotel rep kept telling us "He is only doing the National Park." So, we simply walked down to one of the jetties, hearing several men yell out to us to get us to take their boats. Once we got closer to the jetty in front of the mall,... More

I had heard about this trip since arriving in Brunei but have been putting it off. After 6 months I decided to go after a colleague said he had found a boatman who only charged 30 BND; about £15. I arranged the trip for 4pm so it would be finished before it was dark to avoid the mosquitos. We were... More

Elaine and I took a trip up the the river in a boat taxi it was $B40 to see the monkeys. We were out just over an hour, the driver took us all around the village on stilts and then on to the monkeys, Very exhilarating and most enjoyable. We stopped just where the monkeys were and watched for ten... More

Brunei does not have tour booths/shops to go to to do this your. If you would like to do a river boat tour you must go to the water front and ask the water taxi drivers if they will offer a tour to see the proboscis monkeys and fireflies. That's where you start bargaining for a fair price. We paid... More

Frankly there is very little in the way of tourism in Brunei, but undoubtedly there is huge potential considering the miles and miles of endless beaches and a warm sea. The main city of Bandar Seri Bagadan is small and gives the impression of not actually having a core or centre; that said there is a love mosque and a... More
