The Park and National Monument in Savar are very nice and worth a look. We unfortunately went on National Mother Tongue Day along with thousands of others. The National Martyr`s Monument is moving. We all must realize this country has not been it`s own country for very long and is still emerging...this is a good place to start.

This is a very important place in Bangladesh. You will see the monument along with graves. It looks nice at evening time but be aware of bad people surrounding there. They may ask you for money ( like begging) and bargain. Some come with snakes and frightened general to people to get money. Try to avoid them. Couples face more... More

Very impressive, but requires some attention to cleaning. A long dusty road out of town. There's a distinct feeling that the staff motto is "They pretend to pay us, so we pretend to work."

Very nice. Don't expect to be "blown away". This is a modest structure and surrounding area. Definitely worth the trip though. A nice place to visit, and an important historical symbol of Bangladesh.

This is a wonderful architectural beauty in Bangladesh. Located an hour away from the center of Dhaka city, it is a place where we show respect to all our martyrs who died during the Liberation War. The street side foods are also very yummy! Try and visit the place during the afternoon hours or early morning.

If you're looking for an excuse to get out of Dhaka, I would recommend this. The memorial is an important place, also judging by the number of people visiting. It is a good place to walk around and get some air, and the drive out is also an experience in itself. We were there just before sunset, which gave us... More

The memorial itself is not the most exciting experience, but the parkland was very nice. We were a group of 4 norwegian, and me beein 1.92 meter soon got celebrity status among the Bangladeshi people with some of them following us through the park. A pleassent stop and good to get out of the city streets.
