The park surrounding it is quite pleasant with lots of trees snd a few ponds BUT the place is DIRTY, with papers, plastic bags and other wrappings strewn about, the water... More

I visited here with my husband and 11 year old daughter. On entering, there are beautiful gardens, with a path leading to the monument. The monument itself is moving to visit, thinking about the number of people who died in the war of independence. Worth making the trip out of Dhaka to visit this memorial.

Its a wonderful monument..that resembles the highest possible respect and honer given for the greatest sacrifice of the patriotic people of nation...in 1971....for the birth of our loving country Bangladesh. It;s not only an excellent architectural creation..but also a deep and heavenly feelings of a nation.

For Bangladesh a beautiful, peaceful, place to leave behind the chaos of Dhaka. I made the mistake of walking in with a un-lit cigar in my mouth... My sister-in-law saw this about 3 minutes into the memorial park and said," Brother get the cigar out of your mouth and put it in my purse" She of course noticed the men... More
