I love visiting museums, let is be India's old "National Museum" or Goa's Archaeological Museum. I visit the museums often. Bangladesh's biggest & most informative museum made me fall in love with it. Museum is divided into various sections like "Birds of Bangladesh", " Fruits of Bangladesh", "Animals in Bangladesh", "Villages of Bangladesh" & hundred.. You will not feel more... More

As a tourist, this is an excellent atraction to visit. On par with museums in Europe. The art installations are very good, showcasing Bangladeshi artists. The displays of local culture and artifacts are very detailed and vibrant, and well lit. Also seems to be very popular with the locals. Should be marketed more heavily to tourists. A must see if... The museum is well organized and displays have been housed chronologically in several departments like department of ethnography and decorative art, department of history and classical art, department of natural history.

I really enjoyed this "traditional" national museum and found the varied collection interesting. A great opportunity to learn the history of this young country. It can get crowded on holidays and weekends though.

Bangladesh National Museum has a great collection of Bengali history, heritage, culture, history of liberation of Bangladesh. Great collection from the ancient Indian history to recent. Such as king of Mysore Tipu Sultan's sword! Muslin cloths from old Dhaka! Here we found stuff from Science, culture, Freedom Fight - 1971, fight against British, other ancient time.

You can read and see picture of Bangladesh history. Some old artifacts and etc. More than half of the items in the museum are picture or fake items. Don't waste your time and money going to this museum.

Only visit this museum if you are bored. OK, they have a couple of things on display which are interesting, I liked the furniture for example. Otherwise, awfully artificial looking stuffed animals and the like. Maybe iteresting for small children. They also have a section about the liberation war, part of which could be interesting.

Much of the museum is ok, but the liberation area is a sound and light show spectacular. The indigenous area is also very good, along with the coin collection but the liberation area is a display to take your time through
