We offer a Half day cooking classes for visitors to Nha Trang at a cost of $24 USD per person. It is a great experience and a must do for someone looking for variety to their trip to Nha Trang and something a little different. It involves travelling to the local market in a cyclo, a guided tour of the marketplace, where people get involved in learning about the local food and buying the ingredients for your meals. You then return to the restaurant where you prepare 3 dishes as chosen by the guests and of course enjoy eating what you have prepared.

We were a group of 18, mostly children and young people, and we all loved the cooking class in Lanterns. The trip to the market in cyclos was fascinating. It was great to use a cyclo without having to haggle over the fare as Lanterns arranged everything. Our guides were informative and interesting as they showed us the various ingredients... More

We did this class on a Sunday morning. It was a great introduction to Vietnamese fresh food markets and cooking. Everything from the market is fresh, clean and very good. We had a choice of what we wanted to cook. 4 hours but seemed like 2. Our host/teacher was funny and fun. The cost is low and well worth it.

I had enjoyed several good meals at Lanterns restaurant so decided to give the cooking class a go. We started with a cyclo ride to an indoor market and our teacher was very informative. Our group was small, only 5 people and the atmosphere was friendly and fun. Nam gave us some good tips on presentation as well as showing... More

We booked this class as it was raining in Nha trang that day and had read some great reviews. To start off we had a wonderful teacher called Nam who was funny and engaging with all members of the group. She was also very helpful when we informed her we were vegetarian. She made sure to get tofu for us... More

A great way to spend the morning. Starting at 9, you have a cyclo trip to the market where you get to really absorb the culture and observe how the locals do it. Look away if you are squeemesh when it comes to the frog! Nam made our morning fantastic and whilst the dishes that you make are simple they... More

We had a great day at the Lantern Cooking class. The trip to the market was interesting and eye opening. We thoroughly enjoyed learning some basic Vietnamese dishes and enjoyed eating them even more.

We did a cooking class with Lanterns in October 2014. The class started with a trip to the market via cyclo to obtain ingredients. The market trip was interesting although be warned that if you choose to cook with a frog it will be killed on the spot which was rather confronting. In the class 3 dishes were cooked -... More

Having read some reviews before we travelled, I booked this cooking class in advance of our visit to Nha Trang. The visit to the market was very interesting and informative, and I found it helpful going around with some one (Nam) who was able to answer any question asked. In the class we made fresh spring rolls, fish in a... More
