It is a great experience and a must do for someone looking for variety to their trip to Nha Trang and something a little different. It involves travelling to the local market in a cyclo, a guided tour of the marketplace, where people get involved in learning about the local food and buying the ingredients for your meals. You then return to the restaurant where you prepare 3 dishes as chosen by the guests and of course enjoy eating what you have prepared. « less

A wonderful morning ! We started with a "cyclo" trip to the local wet market! Lots of fun! Our teacher taught us how to choose ingredients and she bought them for our class! We have Starter - rice paper roll, Main course - clay pot fish , and Dessert - cooked banana/mango with ice cream (sorry i forgot the name)!... More

Great cooking class and loads of fun. I did this class with my girlfriends as we just were looking for something different from the bars and beach. The day started off with a cyclo trip to the "locals" market with a tour on how to choose the ingredients. This in itself was a great experience as we would not have... More

I've never done a cooking class before, but wanted to do something to break up time spent drinking and sitting on the beach. The group met at the restaurant and took cyclos over to the market to shop for ingredients. Just strolling around a big market with a guide was interesting. Armed with ingredients we went back to the restaurant... More

Earlier today we took the lantern cooking class and we had a great time! First they took us to the local market to show different type of ingredients and to buy the food which we used for the dishes later on. We went there by cyclo which was cool. Later we made spring rolls and fish in claypot (you can... More

My partner and I did the Lanterns Cooking Class on 24/12/11. We had an absolute blast! The journey to, and the experience of the local markets was a great start to the day! We were given cane sugar juice to taste, had a choice of meats or fish, and even saw a frog slaughtered for those of us who wanted... More

We arrived in Nha Trang on Sunday and after having a wonder around found Lanterns Cooking School. I have previously been in touch with an owner, Robert, by email and got a feel of the place. We usually do at least one cooking class whilst we are away on holidays in every country that we holiday in. This time Lanterns... More

We had a great time at the cooking class. It was a lot of fun! Going to the markets was a nice touch and was great to see. Everything was really well organized and the hot pot we made was delicious. A fun day out! More

Met at the resturant and headed off to the markets in a cyclo. It was fun walking around the markets with someone that could tell us what everything was and explaining the best products to buy, even tried the sugar cane juice. Not to keen on seeing the frogs get skinned but it's all part of the experience. A short... More

We did the cooking class in the morning but had to getaway early and the lanterns staff were very helpful in making sure the class was finished in time. It was interesting at the market, a good way to find out local prices! The food we cooked was extremely good and fun to do. I'll be cooking it at home! More
