We booked our trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels with Sinh Cafe Tours. Our tour seemed to be much larger than other tours and our guide was so loud and embaressing. He rushed us through all the of the parts around the tunnel, shouting "Keep moving everyone, keep MOVING". Other, smaller groups seemed to be much more relaxed moving around... more

For me, the Cu Chi Tunnels is a must-see in Saigon. To walk on the same grounds and in the very same tunnels as the Viet Cong used to evade the American Troops while the whole area was being carpet bombed is quite a feeling. There are two Cu Chi Tunnels exhibits in Cu Chi - one is the original... more

We went on a full day tour which incorporated the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Cao Dai Temple. The tour operator we used when booking the trip was very effecient and spoke excellent English (welcome Tours). We were to be picked up at 8am and dropped off at 5.30pm back at our hotel. The next morning we were waiting in... more

... make sure you get a good guide! I visited the tunnels twice - the first one was unforgettable, the second was so-so. It all boils down to the guide. The first time I went there, we booked with the reception at the Elios Hotel, and was able to get a talkative, ex-South Vietnam army veteran named Mr. Binh as... more

Many different operators run half-day tours to the Cu Chi Tunnels from HCMC. I imagine that they are mostly similiar - the one we went on was great fun. The tour is professionally run and they make an effort to provide an educating view of the American War. I found the film shown at the beginning to be very anti-amercian... more

The Cu Chi tunnels, which were more than 250 km long and three levels deep, were important for the Viet Cong victory over the Americans as they allowed the Viet Cong to control a large rural area around Sai Gon. Today the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience of what underground life... more

We booked the tour from our hotel and it was only $30 each for transportation there and back plus a guide. This included the entry fee. The entire tour, including transportation, took only about five hours so it was worth all of this to see a piece of history. There was a U.S. tank that had been disabled by a... more

My relatives in Vietnam took me here and immediately the worker knew I was a foreigner and charged my bf and I the tourist fee. Which is like 6 times the cost of a local fee. Then they split you up from the regular crowd and you get your own private tour, supposedly with a guide who speaks english. But... more

After crouching through 30m of the 100m tunnel, the Vietnamese people certainly are strong survivors. The tunnels are 70km north west of Ho Chi Minh City and the tour began with a demonstration about how to lower your body into the small tunnel opening. The smokeless stove, tunnel vents, recycling unexploded bombs and general survival skills of the Vietnamese were... more
