No one seems to mention that a brass band plays on the entrance steps early every sunday morning. To see people listening...while resting on their motorbikes - strange. They play well and if you like to listen to real music, well worth the visit (finishes around 9.30am). The building itself has been recently repainted. more
This place is located in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City just adjacent to the Continental Hotel. It is a very old building that is very beautiful. However, I don't think it is as magnificant as the opera house is in Hanoi. It's worth a visit to see this tribute to French architecture. Walk around and enjoy it. more
Another great example of french architecture that you should visit!! It's in the close vicinity of other nice places like Notre Dame, Hotel de Ville and Reunification Palace. Built to emulate the Opera de Paris, it is a nice building to take a few pictures, Unfortunately it doesn't hold any longer the famous operas but only vietnamese plays that might... more
