This was the first time I've visited the Opera House. The anchor show is called the AO Show, and it's the Vietnamese version of Circ de Soliel. It's a must, if you have time. Performers do stunts, dance and there a bit or aerial acrobatics as well, with poles and bamboo baskets. The props and stage are very simple but... More

The building is gorgeous! When we were in town, we went to see the A O Show which was enjoyable and very energetic.

This is always a beautifully well maintained building no matter how many times you visit it. French architecture at its best, it's an icon of a visit to Saigon.

In accordance with the style employed, the façade of the theatre was decorated with inscription and reliefs (like the Ho Chi Minh City Hall), but it was criticized as being too ornate. In 1943 some of this decoration was removed, but a portion was restored by the city government for the 300th anniversary of Saigon in 1998. Today the capacity... More

Visited the Opera House as it was hosting a cultural show called AO that we went to see. Small-ish building that has been preserved reasonable well. It has air con (great if you're going to a show there) with ornate main auditorium. Seats are classic, each hand carved.

Breathtaking and energetic acrobatics display using cane and bamboo to demonstrate the culture of Vietnam. Comic overtones combine with traditional music to lighten the mood. Show lasts one hour and is suitable for all ages.

Great , we loved hanging out here watching people. Very popular to be photographed for weddings. Lots of people hang here and check out what's going on, bikes, weddings, young old lots of people.

I went to see the show AO at the opera house. The show was incredible, but that's another review. This review is for the opera house itself. The building was built by the French during its colonial days and you can see the Parisian influences. Located in the historic colonial district. Worth seeing, but even better if you can see... A very beautiful architecture of the opera house in Saigon that resembles to a french building. Looking back at the first design, it has now improved a lot and much more good looking. It's famous for it's OA cultural show which I did not have time to watch, but I heard it a very good show.
