This is one of the old french buildings in Saigon. It has been well maintained and is rather impressive to see. We were lucky enough to see a Vietnamese dance company who were brilliant.

Saw A O Show there, but suspect it would be a great place to see an actual opera. Magic Flute was coming after our visit.

Let's be honest, there are not many cultural attractions available in Ho Chi Minh City, especially for international visitors. The Opera House is a nice exception. Located in the very heart of Ho Chi Minh City downtown, between the Continental and The Caravelle hotel, it boast a nice year round program. Usually, the resident orchestra performs on 9 and 19... I watched Mozart's "The Magic Flute" performed to a very high standard both from the on stage performers and the orchestra. Sung in English, with the speaking parts in Vietnamese was interesting enough however what made this even more unique was that Tamino and Papageno were performed by Norwegians so their speeches were made by Vietnamese "shadows" that followed them,... Visited the show yesterday - and what a surprise! Those young people are presenting a great show, it is surprising how much they can make you imagine with their simple tools. It is really worth a visit

This was a silent performance with just music. Very well choreographed (not sure what guy below is on about) presented Vietnam well. I backpacked all over Vietnam and the performance highlighted many areas of Vietnam that only a local or experience traveller of the country would understand. Very skilful, fit acrobatics. I was highly impressed. The free drink before show... More

The building is very beautiful and imponent. I did not have the chance to go to any cultural activity inside but I do recomend to follow the program and try to do it because it is worth.

This was an acrobatic show. Not well directed or choreographed, but lots of energy. The facility is marvelous and well maintained. Recommend attending whatever even is showing there.
