If you stay near Ben Thanh market which is highly recommended then all the landmark tourist spots like Notre Dam, Post Office, War Museum, Reunification Palace and Museum are within 20 minutes walk. Visit all those mentioned except the last mentioned Museum.

While the displays are a bit basic that adds to the character. Also not a lot of english either, but in most cases you can work it out. Watch out for the weddings in the grounds we ended up getting out photo with the bride and he dad .. worth the visit

Wierd place. If you have time to spend and nothing else to do, go and visit for the architecture alone. Quite imposing French colonial style bulding with spacious rooms, chandaliers etc. But as far as the museum is concerned, it is quite random collection of things purported to represent the history of HCMC.
