Little did anyone knows that under this church may house a whole system of underground escaping roads from the Reunification to Bach Dang, built to help the old presidency escape whenever war may threaten. That's just an urban legend anyway!

Churches of this style are so few in this corner of the world, that it is actually quite striking in its location in downtown Ho Chi Minh City. Originally the church was built on same site of an abandonment pagoda some time in the 1860's, This was to serve the French colonists at that time. Apparently all the material used... More

Visited during mid-night mass on Christmas Eve. Very busy with many people waiting outside. You must pre-buy ticket to enter as the is a very popular mass. They actually run two more sermons after the mid-night services. Beautifully done and very similar to the original in France. You will enjoy!

Nice enough to look at from the outside. Inside is just a standard church with nothing that makes it stand out.

Very little to see - inside plain though large. Can't walk past the first 15 feet of entering. Not worth a special visit but is next to the equally boring post office.

My husband and I visited the cathedral and attended Sunday mass here. The service was beautiful and lovely singing from the choir. We were blessed to have been here.

Better outside than inside. Has opening hours so plan your day accordingly. So if you visiting Post Office and Cathedral is open, then stop by. Otherwise, don’t return – nothing special.

I so enjoyed my walking tour of the city and this church is a great anchor. We were lucky to be in the circle with no tour buses, so I got some nice shots. Continue explorations from here!

Quite nice exterior with a lot of red brick. However the interior is only open for very limited times during the day, so best to check before hand if you want to see inside. We did not know , so missed seeing inside..
