I visited Ho Chi Minh recently and decided to stay at the Continental since it is a hotel with a serious historical pedigree. The entrance to the hotel is very grand, much wood panelling and the like and the reception staff were very nice, upgrading me to Graham Greene's room (allegedly where the Quiet American was written). This is a beautiful old hotel in the center of the city that is well over a century old, being built during French colonial times.
