This was the perfect day trip to the Mekong Delta. I emailed Water Buffalo about a week before our arrival in Saigon expressing interest in the "Mekong Local for a Day" tour. Khoi emailed back almost immediately, even though it was about 1:00am in Vietnam. We set the date and price before we even stepped on the plane. Water Buffalo... More

Our guide Tam was attentive, articulate, incredibly knowledgable and a pleasure to spend the day with. The temple and the family furniture making business were fascinating, even for those of us who were expecting it to be too touristy. Walking through the market was great fun, joking with the lovely local ladies, experiencing the sights and smells of the local... More

Having read great reviews about the Mekong Local For A Day tour we decided that it would be the best way for us to see the Mekong area in the limited time we had available. Booking the tour back in the UK was easy, with Khoi responding to emails quickly and we received a telephone call the day before our... More

This is a very non-touristy way to enjoy the Mekong Delta and surrounding areas. Our very competent English speaking guide takes us to see a shop making traditional Vietnamese cabinetry that is hand made, a coconut grove where they make souveniers, takes us on a bike ride on smaller trails to see the endless rice patties as well as provide... 2 friends and I had an amazing day trip to the Mekong Delta, filled with fun activities and no other tourist. We stopped at a temple, then a local furniture store. We walked through a local wet market and learned about different products and picked up various exotic fruits and other snacks for the day. Then biked through rice fields,... More

This was my third Water Buffalo Tour. This year was a spectacular 3 day, 2 night Mekong River Tour plus a day tour called "Good Morning, Saigon". When traveling my interests center on culture, life style, food and the people of Vietnam - placing a greater value on experiences over actual cost in dollars. In addition, I prefer top rated... We booked the Real Saigon Tour in late February. I asked Khoi if we could change itinerary to include time in the morning at a song bird cafe. Nothing was too much. We went down a tiny street and sat with men who had brought the song birds to socialise with other birds in a little cafe. It was a... More

I didn't want to do this tour at first, but my husband wanted to see the Mekong Delta. I am so glad he over-ruled me. As has been mentioned before, you don't go to the places that are over-run with tourists. Our guide Jason was excellent - highlights: going to the family furniture making shop - I hate being pressured... More

We really enjoyed this tour. They have lots of different options on what you can do. We choose to spend less time on a boat and instead explored the rice paddy's via bicycle. It was wonderful. We got to see a beautiful Cao Dai temple and ate the best prawns we had on our whole trip next to the ocean.... More
