The waterpuppet show is located not far from the main hotel areas and easy accesible per feet. One ticket costs 160.000 Dong, theatre is airconditioned. The show itself starts quite werid for Western taste, the show is conducted in Vietnamese language and accompanied by traditional Vietnamese music and singing (which for my taste was a littlebit too loud). The show takes... More

As said previously, the show is in Vietnamese, but you do not need to understand the language to enjoy the art of water puppetry and the skills used by the puppet masters to tell the stories. After the show you can have a look at the puppets that are used.

Water puppet show was part of the trip. I glad I saw the performance as it was well performed with a live band and singers. The puppeteers were very skilful and showed a good story.

The show was all in vietnamese so we couldn't understand them.. but they provided the audience with a programme where you can follow the sequence of the acts.. its a puppet show.. if you insist on not being able to understand the show, something must be wrong with you. :)

I didn't think the water puppets were going to be worth seeing. But my wife convinced me to go and have a look and I absolutely loved it. I've been twice now. its very well done.

Puppet show combines music, art and performance. Delightful, at the least. Good value for a few $. Theatre is small but comfortable. Recommended for adults and children. Totally in Vietnamese, no translations but the music and artistry are enough for a cultural immersion. Skillfully rendered. Water portrays the mekong delta. A musty waft may be expected but not to miss.... More

an excellent performance and a different experience of water puppets.eleven small performances with different stories. everything is in vietnamese language so you have to understand the theme only with actions. Great one.

As I was spending a few days in Saigon alone before my friends arrived, I sought out some activites to do. I thought that a "water puppet show" sounded quite interesting and very unique. It was a bit difficult to get tickets in advance because you could not buy them online and had to pick them up in person, and... More

This is aimed squarely at tourists - and why not? - and I guess it finds itself on the itinerary of more groups than not. At about 50 minutes it felt just the right length, and although it wasn't always easy to work out just what was going on, the fascinating live music and sound effects and the sheer skill... More
