Excellent modern museum in purpose-built building. Informative displays of traditional life, with photos, videos, artefacts in highly digestible form. Allow a couple of hours. Best to see this before you go to the countryside so you understand more about what you see there, but you may then wish for a return visit! Loved the videos in particular, e.g the 4... More

I visited the womens museum on my trip to Hanoi in May 2012 after Reading the good reviews - I was not disappointed. For 30,000 VND it is well worth a trip. I learnt a lot after walking around the museum and you really start to realise how important the women are in Vietnam. They are very strong women who... More

It is very appropriate that there is a Women's museum in Hanoi. During my visit to Vietnam i learned that Vietnamese women are tough, resilient people, who work in the rice fields, manage their families, and added to that, fight in wars when the time is there. Vietnamese women are really the backbone of the country. In the Women's museum... More

I enjoyed the whole concept of dedicating a musuem to the role of women in Vietnam very exciting. I enjoyed the displays which were instructive and was surprised to see how much space was give to explaining ethnic minority cultures in the context of women in work, marriage and family. Well worth a visit. More

There is an exhibition of women (and men) and how their lives are living on 100k VND a day - about £3 working in a market. It really focussed the mind. The rest of the exhibition was ok - interesting to learn more about the culture More

Clean, modern air conditioned building with the display running over 4 floors (lift accessible). Wonderful stories are presented about the role of Vietnamese women from a cultural and historical standpoint - eg. marriage & child birth, work & family, religion & government, as well as some war time stories. I wandered around for nearly 2hrs and could have stayed longer.... More

To see the personalized stories of the women who fought the French and later battled for their freedom against the U.S. was fascinating. It put everything into perspective about how the conditions affected real people and what they went through for self-determination. Very inspiring! More

This is a really wonderful museum that gives huge insight into Vietnamese history and culture. The most compelling section of the museum is the part that tells the story of the roles played by women during the Vietnam war. More
