Hi, I have more or less covered every museum in Hanoi. This museum was very much as expected with constant references to colonialists and the Vietnamese heroic fight against them. It focusses mainly on attacking the French at every available opportuntity and doesn't miss the chance to give the USA a slap as well just for good measure.Plenty of pictures... More

This museum is confusing to find as there are two museums close together with the same name and neither are called the Museum of the Revolution! Just ask the man on the gate. The information covers many rooms over two floors and gives a huge amount of information with documentary photographs and quotations. The problem is, much of it is just... More

Of course the perspective offered is that of the people and government of VN. Very different from what Westerners learn about the VN War. More

We arrived around 11.30am but it was closing over the lunch period, so went across the the History Museum and came back here later. For English speakers, the commentary was lacking and I found it difficult to follow/understand. There's a wealth of exhibits here and some interesting/disturbing photos, but overall the experience could've been much better with more structure and... More

The museum is housed in a grand old building. It is a pity that most of the exhibits, particularly the photographs were poorly displayed. The story of the Veitnamese struggle for independence is one that we westerners don't often hear about from the other side. More

Looked forward to learning something interesting about successful 20th c. Revolutionary movement in SE Asia which had such a huge impact on US in 1960s, got a politically corrected mishmash of propaganda, relics and grainy photos. Beautiful old building and some intriguing Subplots, though, such as Chiang Kai Shek Nationalist invasion of VN in '45, French-Viet Minh agreement to expel... More

Lots of interesting pictures and items from Vietnam's turbulent past. This is a fine way to spend a few hours and inexpensive to get in as well. More
