Great variety, good prices & obliging staff. All shopping in the Old Quarter is made easy by having shops selling the same products in the one street. Do not be afraid of bargaining!!! but do smile & be polite!! all shopping More

We spent lots of time here visiting tailors and having suits, coats, dresses and jackets made. We were not disappointed in any of them and were very pleasantly surprised with the speed with which they were made and the value for money. We also bought a few pairs of prescription glasses and sunglasses at a fraction of the cost we... More

Got recommended from the hotel to be the place to buy silk. However we finally got nothing to buy from the wallet as it was stolen by somebody on the street. The hotel staff had reminded me before but it was still a moment of neglect that it all went out to nothing. Luckily we had the hotel man asked... More

This is quite a good street to get clothes made. Personally (I am a man) I buy my jackets and shirts there. Not my pants and boxer shorts, although I tried once but they are not so well made. I bring an old shirt and jacket (even unclean) and leave them for measurement, even though you should have them check... More

Some wonderful dressmakers in this street, as well as high fashion (well high fashion for Hanoi anyway), silk shops, handbags, shoes, jewellery and a couple of pretty good art galleries. My special dressmaker (for the past 9 years) - Mrs Van at Cu Thanh (60 Hang Gai Street) makes up wonderful clothes - both Western and Asian styles. More

Stayed in a hotel (Sapphire Elegance) just down from Hang Gai in Hang Bong. Spent alot of time wandering the length of Hang Gai. There are many gorgeous silk shops here, the quality varies. there are some pretty clothes and some not so pretty. The range is incredible, not only clothes, but haberdashery, scarves and sleeping bag inserts (which are... More

You can bargain and get great prices. They have wonderful clothes already made, but you can also have something made up to suit you. Great street to explore More

This is the main drag of the tourist Old Quarter. It is fun to walk the 2nd and later times- the first time it is quite scary with all the traffic that does not heed the stop lights. There are many side streets more interesting to walk. More

This was our second visit to Hanoi in a period of seven years and we have had garments tailored for us around the World and based on our previous experience, we hoped to find a good tailor to have a few items of clothing made - a Casual Linen Jacket for my husband and some pants for me. I had... More
