I have done quite a lot of cooking courses over the years, this was good one. Well organised and well taught with a clear instruction booklet to take home. I have done some of the recipes already in my own kitchen and I'm happy to report they turned out almost as well. I had a day free on my own... More

We chose this cooking class for its good reputation and so that we could be in a group of people. We paid $55 each and really don't feel like we got value for money. The market tour was informative - if not a little horrifying...it was true Vietnamese cuisine - but like some reviews have suggested the cooking class was... More

My wife and I did the Hanoi and The Northern Highlands cooking class. It was fantastic. The chef demonstrated the techniques and then we prepared four dishes. It was very hands on. Afterwards we got to eat our creations. Would definitely recommend.

A small group of us spent a most pleasant afternoon here learning Vietnamese cuisine hands-on. The facility is pleasant, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We were shown how to prepare the dishes and then did the preparation ourselves. Meanwhile we enjoyed free beer. Then we visited a nearby local market, came back and enjoyed the fruits of our labour. A... More

This was a great experience in a well equipped cooking school with a terrific teacher. I often heard from other visitors that the cooking class they attended elsewhere was really just observation. Here we had a great lesson in which we observed preparation and then made each dish ourselves. The kitchen was very well equipped with multiple stations for the... More

I'm generally not a big fan of cooking classes and mostly went along on this one to placate my spouse, but I was very glad that I went. The class kicked off, like many do, with a visit to the local market. Our guide was very informative and capably answered all of the questions of the very inquisitive members of... More

We had specifically planned our Vietnam trip to come back to Hanoi for our booked vegetarian cooking class and after coming down from Sapa to make it to the class the teacher seemed to have no idea what the class was. We walked straight from the venue to the market straight to the pork counter in the market where he... More

What a really amazing and fun thing to do. We were greeted and given local tea whilst our half day street food tour was explained. First we were taken round the meat and veg market next door - which isn't a place for the squeamish BTW. We tried a lot of unusual food but avoided the raw salad/herbs and veg.... More

The Hanoi Cooking Centre was a great learning opportunity. I went to the market guided by Ho. (I'm probably spelling that wrong, very sorry!) He patiently answered all of my "what's that" questions and showed the different market areas for medicinal herbs, western produce, rices, mushrooms, etc. I learned how to tell a quality fish sauce and got some great...
