First visit the famous Chau Long Market, then take your wares back to the kitchen to prepare a meal, perhaps street food, traditional Hanoian dishes or coastal cuisine. If you don't want to cook, a five-hour tour of street food and other venues ends with Vietnamese tea and dessert.

Started the day with Tracey doing a food tour at the local market. Very informative and a great experience. Back at the school we started our class to prepare lunch. The staff was very good, the kitchen very clean, professional and well prepped. The class though simple in cooking, was well instructed and much fun. Would definitely recommend it a... More

Thank you Hau for showing us your Hanoi. We had a wonderful tour eating flavorful street food from pho to Vietnamese coffee. I now feel confident to venture out and make better food choices and know how to eat many dishes properly. Hau, our guide, was so delightful, he is a chef himself, so could explain all about how things... More

I have been travelling all over Asia doing cooking classes and this by far is the best, most fun, most informative and most professional one I have done. I did the street food cooking class. I learnt a lot during the market walk, we tried new things I was curious about (very flexible and personalised), the cooking instructions were very... More

Interesting class, with great cooking tips. My only gripe with this place is that we paid for two people, but given ingredients for one. Because we are a couple, we had to cook together, received the same ingredients as solo people, but charged as two separate people. So if we registered as two strangers, it may have been better? Not... More

We really enjoyed the freshest market tour and cooking class, similar set up to Masterchef. Very professionally operated and delicious Vietnamese foods. Opposite at Quam Pho Huyen we had the best Pho for breakfast.

We visited five street stalls specially selected by the Centre’s local chefs, starting with pho for breakfast. Our guide was super sweet but, because of limited English fluency, it was tough to engage in a more detailed conversation about the history of certain dishes, for example. The tour also felt a bit tired - like the choice of places has... More

Fantastic food tour! Local market and eateries with history! We had Hau as our guide, being both a chef and a keen foodie, he was a joy to chat with. Hau is such a walking recipe. Love those markets, an eye opener for all. A must do in Hà Nội!

I must admit to being very resistant to taking this lesson. Images of sweating it out in a hot humid, enclosed kitchen, coming out smelling of spices and burnt oil. I could NOT have been further from the truth. The kitchen is clean, well organised and numbers are kept to a minimum, so you can maximise your learning. The cuisine... More

Our guide, Hau, was very knowledgeable and spoke very good English. The Pho was the best so far on our holiday, as was the coffee. My friend and I had visited the Old Quarter a couple of days before but Hau made it a completely new experience and a lot of fun. Highly recommended!

Booked a street food tour with Hanoi Cooking Centre. Our guide Hau took us around Hanoi food markets and we stopped at 5 different street food vendors along the way. Make sure to wear closed toe shoes, the market floor are very dirty and wet. The Pho we had was one of the best Pho's I've tried in Vietnam. My... More
