First visit the famous Chau Long Market, then take your wares back to the kitchen to prepare a meal, perhaps street food, traditional Hanoian dishes or coastal cuisine. If you don't want to cook, a five-hour tour of street food and other venues ends with Vietnamese tea and dessert.

We had specifically planned our Vietnam trip to come back to Hanoi for our booked vegetarian cooking class and after coming down from Sapa to make it to the class the teacher seemed to have no idea what the class was. We walked straight from the venue to the market straight to the pork counter in the market where he... More

What a really amazing and fun thing to do. We were greeted and given local tea whilst our half day street food tour was explained. First we were taken round the meat and veg market next door - which isn't a place for the squeamish BTW. We tried a lot of unusual food but avoided the raw salad/herbs and veg.... More

The Hanoi Cooking Centre was a great learning opportunity. I went to the market guided by Ho. (I'm probably spelling that wrong, very sorry!) He patiently answered all of my "what's that" questions and showed the different market areas for medicinal herbs, western produce, rices, mushrooms, etc. I learned how to tell a quality fish sauce and got some great... A great cookery school with lovely instructors. We loved it so much we went back for a second class. The BBQ class is particularly good and not one you are likely to find elsewhere. A great find.

Booked the 'Hanoi and the Northern Highlands' class via email with no issues prior to arriving in Vietnam. The class consists of a walking tour through the nearby local markets led by Australian-owner Tracey who was incredibly knowledgable and provided plenty of street food tips. The class was well run with a friendly and approachable young chef, facilities were well-maintained... More

I was excited to see a vegetarian cooking class on offer at this school, as I've visited some great vegan and vegetarian restaurants here in Vietnam, and was eager to pick up a few cooking tips. Unfortunately I wasn't overly impressed with either the quality of the 'class' (which felt more like a demonstration, than an actual lesson on cooking),... More

The Hanoi Cooking Center offers a basic street food tour, which is a walking tour, and by request they will arrange a seafood tour and an "unusual foods" tour. It is led by a chef so you get all the culinary details, and visit some of the famous street food vendors, some of whom have been in the same location... More

We were greeted with a fresh lemon tea, then our chef, Linh, took us on a very interesting tour of the local Mung Nam Moi Markets. We returned to the kitchen and under Linh's guidance prepared our 4 course lunch. A really enjoyable morning.

This cooling class taking by Mr Hau was really in depth and a lot of fun. We were able to have a go at everything and some of the recipes I would definitely do at home in NZ. Mr Hau is a talented individual that does the Hanoi Cooking Centre proud.

My partner and I did this together and we had a lot of fun!! The lovely gentleman who looked after was funny and very good! We even taught him a couple of words. We would do this again when we revisit hanoi in the future
