We read reviews of several cooking schools looking for ones that would allow us to either do an all seafood or all vegetarian menu, and for ones with good reputations. Hanoi Cooking Centre had great reviews and had vegetarian and seafood options, so we had our hotel call and see if they could arrange an afternoon cooking class and market... More

After Looking for a good cooking class that gives you the market tour and intresting dishes ,we booked this class a day before ...and we are so happy. The market tour was just the right time, learning new things we yet did not know (even after two weeks in Vietnam ). The class was an interactive class where you cook... More

As Hanoi was our first stop on our three week Vietnamese holiday we thought we should join the Hanoi Cooking Centre for a market visit and cooking class. What a great decision! We met up at the Hanoi Cooking Centre at the agreed time (a very short walk from our hotel) and were greeted warmly and offered a cooling glass... More

Did a 4 hour Vietnamese street food class....great trip to market n chance to really look (n photograph) stalls, produce, vendors and LEARN about produce, which unguided walk through leaves one without, because so much is strange n new to westerners. Then back to school...to try fried silkworms! Tasted nutty n go soooo well with beer...at 10.15a.m.! Then hands on... More

After taking this class I now know how to be the perfect vietnamese wife. The mystery of how fish sauce is made and how papaya is skinned and cut was discovered. The market tour was a great introduction and not an area we would have visited otherwise. We learned a lot about what the vendors were selling. I even tried... More

Residing in a typical Hanoi building, the cooking center will interest your 5 senses. In The near by market you will discover the fresh produce; Difficult to accept by some of the westerners but for a fact everything is fresh and comes daily to the market from Hanoi surrounding villages; than what the Chef picks from the market will be... Hanoi Cooking Centre offers a comprehensive introduction to Hanoi markets and cuisine. First we had absolutely delicious pho noodle soup (beef) in a small restaurant across the street from the Ha Noi food centre. It takes 8 hours to make broth every night from beef bones and brisket. Perhaps more amazingly, Vietnamese will not buy meat for soup that was... More

I love taking my guests to this Street food tour ..well planned and executed. You start up with pho soup and continue to eat your way through all the mysteries looking food offerings. A Must Do ! The tour through the market alone is a priceless photo-op.

I did the market tour followed by a cooking class, the tour was very informative and we got to get extra stuff to try at the class such as some blitzed up soft shell crabs to make a soup with..... Divine ! Tracey's staff are helpful, friendly, fun and to top it off you get to eat all the food... More
