Undeniably the landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. However we get bored after about half an hour due to the same scenery throughout the 90minutes ride. Personally I would advise people to join group tour which cost much less than private tour because the overall package doesn't justify the extra money paid.

Don't be put off by the hustlers, this is a beautiful boat trip through some nice scenery. Pack some snacks and something to drink as you'll be on the boat for 30/40 mins. Sit back and enjoy it! A photo is only 20,000 vd and makes for nice memorabilia.

If I didn't have such a wonderful time during the boat ride on the Tam Coc boat trip, I would be writing a different review. We had taken several tours in Hanoi and each time we were to wait in our room from 7:45 to 8:15. We would wait, they'd call us and off we'd go. Our last trip, the... More

Hoalu is a very beautil place with long history about Vietnames Kingdom. Tamcoc is a wonderful place for a little boat trip. Take a a boat trip was great experience but when finish locak ask you about tipping.Renting a bicycle is worth it and you will be in the a lot of the rice fields.

There are two key parts to this day tour, i.e. a visit to an ancient temple in Hoa Lu, and then a river cruise at Tam Coc. The latter provides visitors with a scenic view of the hills and countryside in Vietnam, via a 1.5-hour boat ride. Each boat can accommodate between 2 to 3 passengers, operated by a friendly... Tam Coc is a beautil place with history but not very much to see. Hoa Lu is a wonderful place for a little boat trip but you have to know that the good period is February (When the rice is green or yellow) otherwise you are going to be desapointed because it won't be the same as in the pictures.... We, unfortunately, splurged on this trip and had a private tour. Essence Hotel supplied a guide and driver in a new 4x4. The driver, car and guide were excellent. On the way, everyone stops at the mandatory craft shop where disabled children (reportedly due to Agent Orange) are on display sewing handicrafts. Expect a well deserved western guilt trip and...
