It was an extremely hot day, but was enjoyed very much. When we arrived after a 4 hour trip, we had a buffet, with mainly traditional food and some Western food. It was tasty and filling!. We then went to see the Temples, which is always interesting to us. We got an opportunity to sit on a Bison and sit... More

Great place to visit and take photos, only negative ( and you can not blame them for trying to make a living) was freelance photographers taking your photos without your request then turning up 5 minutes later trying to sell you laminated photos that they have just taken of you.

The visit to Hoa Lu was interesting and it is well-preserved. As most others on this forum have said, we learnt a lot about Vietnamese (Chinese?) history from this visit. It is worth the trip although it's quite a distance from the city. Tam Coc was pretty. It makes you feel like you're in the scenic parts of China. The... More

In our holiday in Vietnam, we visited Hoa Lu - Tam Coc, Halong Bay on land. This is one of our favourite tours showing how beautiful and productive Vietnam is. We spent a full day to Ninh Binh, around 2 hours driving from Hanoi. Our driver and guide are very lovely and funny. We enjoyed the rowboat, paddy fields, caves... More

We were so excited on our first day in Vietnam and headed off on this tour organised by our accommodation. The longish bus ride was so interesting for us as every thing was new and exciting. We looked at a temple complex first for a king that was relaxing, untrusted and great photo opportunities. Downside hassled relentlessly by hawkers. Our... More

Despite the scorching hot sun,we enjoyed the sampan river ride and the scenery was breathtaking . Was amazed on how our rower rowed using her feet the entire 2 hours. Hoa Lu was very informative tour to fill the gaps of my knowledge of Vietnam.Worth the time.

We booked this day Tour from our Hotel and did not regret. The scenery was incredible. It was like an inland Halong Bay. The activities there were fun too including relaxed boat ride(where u can even try boat rowing), cycling around the majestic Limestone mountains and Padi fields at Tam Coc, nice sumptous buffet spread of their local food, visit... I booked the tour from Rose Hotel and it cost only 25 $. From Hanoi to Hao Lu-Tam Coc took around 2 hours by van. The first place was Hao Lu, the capital city. Then, we moved to Tam Coc for lunch and enjoyed the rowboat. What I liked the most was; a man who rowed the boat by feet. One... More

We booked the Tam Coc 1-day tour with Sinh Cafe (7 Hang Hanh), and paid $32 for the "deluxe" tour including bicycles. After reading some of the reviews on here, I was dreading, but prepared to deal with really pushy sellers; however, I didn't experience anything like what was described, and I actually had a fantastic time. Yes, there are... More

I took one day tour to Hoa Lu-Tam Coc in sunny day. We spent 2 hours from Hanoi to Ninh Binh. The tour guide was so friendly and informative. The first destination that we visited is ancient capital. It is small but nice place to explore about history. After that, we enjoyed the buffet lunch in local restaurant. The food... More
