Both tours were super. Rich in cultural and historical experiences and food. The nature is stunning. I did not like the travel by the minibus as the roads are bumpy and slow and it can almost take all the pleasure away, but if you use that time wisely it's OK. If the transport had been a bit quicker the tour... More

Except for the bum killer minibus journey, this tour offers a great insight in the Vietnamese countryside. Of course, all the pictures on the website and tourist guides were taken in the summer, when the river is surrounded by paddy fields and the sky perfectly blue. In December, the tour doesn't immerse in the same lushness but the spectacle of... More

We booked a day tour to Hoa Lu and "Halong on the Land" which is Tam Coc. Known some history of the Thang dynasty at Hoa Lu. The most interesting visit was the Tam Coc. We had a 6km small boat ride which roll by their foot and all we need is just relax and enjoy the wonderful view along... More

Hoa Lu is the ancient royal capital of Vietnam in 10th and 11th centuries. It is located 2 hours (car journey) from Hanoi. Normally tourists will visit this destination together with Tam Coc. We reached Hao Lu at about 11.00am. After went down from our van, there are many locals trying to approach you as to sell stuffs to the... More

We loved the temples of this ancient capital of Vietnam. We learned a loth about the culture and history thanks to our tourguide. Our advice for tam coc is to take the bike instead of a boat. You can see the same things but the sailesmen and woman wont bother you and you can take all the time you need... More

Includes a tour of the ancient capital (Hoa Lu) and Halong Bay on land (Tam Coc). Both these places definitely worth a visit. Touching a bit more on Tam Coc, the tour includes a sampan cruise (mini boat) along the river and a bike tour around the village. The sampan cruise takes about 1.5 hours. Just lay back and enjoy... This is called Halong Bay on Land. I actually loved this tour although it wasnt perfect. What I enjoyed was the palace of the 1st & 2nd Emperor of Vietnam, beautifully set in the middle of limestone mountains. I just wish the tour guide would have told us the story about the Emperors life in the bus, not in the... More

This tour was not in my initial plan but I had another day to spare in Hanoi so I told my hotel to assist in arranging for a day tour to Hoa Lu Tam Coc and I am glad I did! After about 2 hours of bus ride, we arrived at Hoa Lu district, where it used to be the... More

The place is really beautiful. It is 2HRS from Hanoi. There are total 3 places / activites.First we visited the king's old residence. The place is just so so to me as in Msia there are many temples, very similar cultures. Next we went gor our buffet lunch. It was not so good, it is not as tasty as we... More
