We enjoyed a cookery class with Tinh on the morning on Tuesday 16th December. After being collected from the hotel, we went to the market where Tinh showed us all the different ingredients you can buy & let us try some. This is our first time travelling in Asia & we found it really interesting to see & try fresh... More

It all starts out with going to the local market. Our guide was bringing us to buy the ingredients Which we would later cook. We stopped at our first stop he picked up a carrot and said: " Guys, do you know what this is?". Did he really think westerners don't know what a carrot is? I am a well... More

I cannot recommend this class highly enough! Tinh (0912575489) was a fantastic guide. His English language skills are superior and he is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The visit to the local markets was fascinating and fun. The Chef was very skillful and Tinh translates as required. The food was unbelievably good, they have a great menu for you to learn.... More

Great morning! The market tour is conducted by Tinh, a funny, knowledgeable local guy, who I feel I got to know qutie well, since I lucked out and had what turned out to be a private class. He didn't seem disappointed to only have one customer, and gave it as much energy as he would with a full crew of... More

We lucked out with our Blue Butterfly booking and ended up in a private class with just my friend and I. After starting our morning off with complimentary tea & coffee, we walked with our guide Tinh to the local market to pick up some ingredients for our meal. It was interesting to navigate the streets of Hanoi with him,... More

This was a last minute decision and Thinh accommodated me with less than an hour's notice. The market tour was fun and informative (if a little wet - it drizzled all day) and Thinh encouraged us to try a number of items. The cooking class was so much fun. The chef speaks little English but he is quite funny. It... More

The market tour was quite nice, but the students in this class do not cook. The only involvement with cooking was chopping up vegetables that were handed to a chef to cook. The food was decent, but for the price I expected that each student would get their own station and would learn some cooking techniques. Also, the entree was... More

It was a last minute decision to do this cooking class, and we are very glad we did it! This was definitely one of our highlights of our short stay in Hanoi. Tinh (he runs the class) was very accommodating and friendly, he spoke very good English and had a great sense of humour, very similar to our Australian humour.... More

We were just 3 people at the cooking class. Mr. Tinh took us to the market and showed us a lot of different fruits, vegetables and some special vietnamese food. We tried duck embryo. Tasted much better than it sounds ;-) He showed us how to cook the meals in a very detailled way and he had an answer on... More

Our Blue Butterfly cooking class was a highlight of our trip to Hanoi. Tinh (Kevin) was an absolutely amazing instructor and was very knowledgeable and fun. We were picked up from our hotel by cab (included in the price of the class) and brought to the restaurant, then walked through the very lively old-quarter streets to see and try fresh... More
