Because of their precipitous nature, most of the islands are uninhabited and unaffected by a human presence. The site's outstanding scenic beauty is complemented by its great biological interest. The outstanding value of the property is centered around the drowned limestone karst landforms, displaying spectacular pillars with a variety of coastal erosional features such as arches and caves which form a majestic natural scenery. The repeated regression and transgression of the sea on the limestone karst over geological time has produced a mature landscape of clusters of conical peaks and isolated towers which were modified by sea invasion, adding an extra elemant to the process of lateral undercutting of the limstone towers and islands. « less

Halong bay was extremely beautiful during our trip. Me and my family booked our cruise via Brilliant Halong Cruises website and stayed at Dragon Legend Cruise. We got 2 lovely and big cabins om 2nd floor with great window. Enjoyed our trip with luxury van(Vip). The cruise was luxury and expensive but it worth for every penny. We enjoyed our... More

Halong Bay with over 1500 rock formations were breath taking! Loved every single moment of the views and how calm the sea was! We were able to swim, kayak as well as visit caves. I would definitely return and spend longer to explore more around the Bay.

We took a trip with Halong Continental Sails, and in the end were more than satisfied with the provided service. Everything went smoothly without any annoying inconvenience. Halong Bay is absolutely an ideal place to recommend with its super beauty. If you seek for a Halong Bay Tour - well seek no further.

A boat trip amidst the thousands of islands in Halong Bay and around is one of the most amazing natural sights you will ever see.

Before we go there we had very big expectations. Halong bay is a natural beauty but the sea is not clean. There are fiah farms around and especially near the floating village you can see all kinds of trash on the water. Vietnam people are very kind and good but they do not mind about protecting the natural beauties around... More

In my opinion, Halong Bay is not a place worth to see. It is nice to have a boat trip and spend a night at there if you know a nice cruise company. However, if you are thinking about going a day trip, I recommend you to think again. From Hanoi to Halong City, it is taking more than 3... More

Travel back in time and come to Halong Bay. There is so much peacefulness in this quite oasis. The views are incredible. You feel like you just traveled into Jurassic Park. If you are ever in Vietnam, this must be top on your list!!

This is an amazing part of the world. We stayed overnight on a junk, which had rooms with private bathroom, and the meals were fantastic. Calm waters and steady cruising made for a great memory.

Halong Bay has some beautiful caves and islands. While most islands are rock islands and not sandy. Cave Amazing is a very beautiful limestone cave with stalagmite/ stalactite formations. Its well lit and paved from inside.
