Because of their precipitous nature, most of the islands are uninhabited and unaffected by a human presence. The site's outstanding scenic beauty is complemented by its great biological interest. The outstanding value of the property is centered around the drowned limestone karst landforms, displaying spectacular pillars with a variety of coastal erosional features such as arches and caves which form a majestic natural scenery. The repeated regression and transgression of the sea on the limestone karst over geological time has produced a mature landscape of clusters of conical peaks and isolated towers which were modified by sea invasion, adding an extra elemant to the process of lateral undercutting of the limstone towers and islands. « less

Definitely worth the trip. Do an overnight cruise for sure. It's beautiful! Do your research on cruises because there are a lot and that can make or break the experience. Also shop around prices because they can vary.

Stunning place! We took a side trip from Hanoi and I am so grateful we took the time to go. It was amazing! Take an overnight cruise on Paradise Cruise . Just a beautiful and peaceful place.

We visited Halong Bay on a two day cruise. We were so happy that we chose to stay a night, because we could not get enough of the beautiful scenic view from the boat. It is an absolut must see in Vietnam.

Everything they say about it is true. Just go, and take your time- two nights are much better than just one.

Halong Bay is very beautiful. The waters are very green. The scenery of the mountains are beautiful. Halong Bay have little space for showering beach. I found the tour in Halong Bay a little boring, no fun, especially on the ship (schooner / boat). I think people (employees) within the ship has to be more fun, the ship has to... More

We did a wonderful boat tour through Halong bay 5 years ago. It is still one of my absolute favourite destinations. If you are in Vietnam do not miss it!!!! Our tour boat guide was supposed to speak English. He didn't but he was friendly and always smiling. Except when he fell asleep at the wheel and we hit a... More
