Because of their precipitous nature, most of the islands are uninhabited and unaffected by a human presence. The site's outstanding scenic beauty is complemented by its great biological interest. The outstanding value of the property is centered around the drowned limestone karst landforms, displaying spectacular pillars with a variety of coastal erosional features such as arches and caves which form a majestic natural scenery. The repeated regression and transgression of the sea on the limestone karst over geological time has produced a mature landscape of clusters of conical peaks and isolated towers which were modified by sea invasion, adding an extra elemant to the process of lateral undercutting of the limstone towers and islands. « less

Honestly words would fail to describe the experience in Halong Bay. Nonetheless it's one of the new wonders of the world. From Hanoi I got picked up from my hostel then we drove for about 3.5 hours to Halong Bay. Once there in the boat we were served a delicious lunch and enjoyed the most beautiful view you can ever... I booked with AClass Cruise line and was very impressed. Exceptional value, super organized and a smooth run itinerary. Meals on the boat were exquisite and the crew were so gracious. Highly recommended! About the Bay itself...I didn't find it cluttered with garbage as some other reviews mention. Just beware the jellyfish if swimming. Ouch!

To be honest, I have many chances to go to Halong. The first time I go there with my mom when I was 12. I was really suprised by its beauty. After 14 years (I visit Halong the second time when I was 26), I find Halong worse than before because it is crowded with tourists and some time you... More

The cruise was well organised from leaving Hanoi early morning to our return the following evening. The Galaxy is an old junk but well maintained and very comfortable. The staff were all polite and friendly and our guide, Hiep, was both entertaining and informative. The food on board the Galaxy was plentiful and delicious. I have a seafood intolerance so... More

We booked a two night (supposed to be 3 day) boat trip on Halong Bay at the end of April. The weather was great. It was possibly a little hot for some but I thought we might be swimming - NOT! There is no way I was getting into that water. I live in Asia so I am used to... More

This was the main part of my trip to Vietnam, it was a place that had fascinated me since being a child. We booked through Jenifer Huong(info@asiapacifictravel.vn) and were not dissapointed. I found Jenifer whilst searching for a way to obtain our Vietnam visas, she also arranged those for us. She booked us a great trip, she is very good... More
