We booked through An An travel a one day trip to the Mekong. I can't remember exactly how much it cost, I think only about £6 each. It takes over 2 hours to reach the river, travelling along a very slow busy straight and boring road. When we arrived we travelled by boat and visited 4 different islands. All the... More

2 day tour booked through the Saigon Tourist bureau. Cost 3,549,000VND per person. Just the 3 of us on the tour in a van. Tour guide spoke excellent english and knew his topic. Day 1 First stop was to take a small boat to visit a bee farm. Very interesting. Good lunch of Elephant Ear fish, dragon egg and cold... More

We did the whole day Mekong tour. Whilst it was an interesting day it did feel a little too touristy. We didnt spend a huge amount of time on the river and spent most of the day at a purpose built tourist village where we went on a horse cart, took a short canoe trip down the river and ate... More

We thoroughly enjoyed cruising the Mekong delta. Definitely a highlight when travelling to HCMC. I would have to say that getting bogged for an hour was definitely fun because it's fascinating to experience how the locals have to wait for the water to rise. The water is very calm so you shouldn't get seasick.

Our organized group tour arranged for a day trip on the Mekong River from Ho Chi Minh City. We were met by a local guide at the dock and she stayed with us throughout the day. We visited Unicorn Island and Dragon Island. At these islands, we tasted a sampling of local fruit and fresh honey, listened to Vietnamese music,... More

We have just returned from the Mekong Delta after spending a magical day/night cruise on our very own 2 birth Sampon, cruising the lower Mekong river & it's maze of canal networks. A great way to see life in the country, with paddy fields, plantations & lots of friendly people making their living on the water. Victoria Hotels offered a... More

Wow, they exceeded all expectations. Excellent food and service by all locals from Cambodia and Vietnam. Highly trained and focused on customer care. The excursions had knowledgeable guides, 100% attentive. Sight seeing made the trip truly memorable, we will sail with AMA again

We are normally budget travelers, but decided to see the Mekong in style and booked a week on Pandaw's Mekong River Cruise from Siem Reap to Saigon. It was absolutely terrific. The RV Mekong Pandaw was an immaculate boat, the crew of 27 showed obvious pride in their work, and the itinerary and daily agendas were both varied and interesting.... More

Avoid Delta Adventure for boat tours on the Mekong. They take you a lot of of money then there is no boat, you travel by bus !

When visiting Can Tho for the two most popular floating markets in the delta, you should not try and do so via a day trip. The best time to visit these markets is early in the morning (you should be on the water by 5:30am), so trying do do it as a day trip from HCM city won't work. Can... More
