This 3 day/2nights tour on a sampan was the highlight of our Vietnam trip. I honestly think that if we had not done this tour, we would not have really seen the authentic Vietnam in our 2 weeks tour of Vietnam. This boat is beyond unbelievable. It is sooooooo charming to travel on it. We were 2 couples traveling together... More

My wife and I stayed overnight on a converted rice barge. It felt like the movie set of a period Agatha Christie film! Really comfortable accommodation, super Vietnamese food (although the service could have been slightly less rushed) and interesting excursions into local villages. Lots of sun beds and deck chairs on board to slowly watch the world go by.... More

Come and learn how the people depends on this river for livelihood. See the floating houses and commercial activities on the river. Day trip will also bring you to some of the small towns near the river to experience the people's life styles. Mar 2012

A cruise on the Mekong river will provide an insight into the lives of people who live in the Mekong delta and depend on this river system for their livelihood. The Mekong river originates in the Tibetan Plateau and flows across China, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Burma and Cambodia (including Tonle Sap lake). I have now seen this river in 3... More

Well, the bit we saw anyway. We had a 2day/1night tour booked with Jason Superstar's other guide, Vu, who was charming. We were picked up from our hotel in HCMC by car but unfortunately the car was stopped by the police on our journey. We never found out why, but it was clear that the police wanted money before they... More

We recently returned from the most amazing holiday to Singapore, Vietnam and Cambodia. The highlight of the holiday was the River Cruise from Saigon to Siem Reap on board the Mekong Prestige II. It really was a great way to see the real Vietnam and Cambodia without the hassle of travelling on coaches. There were a total of 64 passengers... More

Just returned from Saigon and did the 1 day trip to the Mekong Delta with Delta Tours. We only paid £10 but what a disappointment it was. The 2 hour trip on an over stuffed coach was not great, and a pretty boring journey. When we arrived we were herded on and off boats all day long to visit tea,... More

The Mekong is a must for all when touring Southern Vietnam. The laid back put-put sound from the long boats, the wide river and the different way many people live off it create a relaxing ambiance that is of huge contrast to Ho Chi Minh. It has the usual tourist traps, without persistent salespeople - which is refreshingly different to... More

I would like to reiterate what others have said of the Mekong Pandaw. It's more like a family than passengers and crew, that's how we were made to feel. The crew from Captain down to the laundry lady couldn't do enough for us. Every off shore excursion we were escorted not only by excellent tour guides but members of the... More
