There are many, many tour operators in Halong Bay. Paradise are one of the bigger, and more expensive operators. Our experience was largely good. The boat was well equipped and well run. Everything worked - a/c, cabin safe, hot water etc. Safety equipment was visible and appeared in good condition. The organisation of our 3day/2 night cruise was very good.... More

When we booked our two- night break, we were expecting to be on one of dozens of junks; we did not realise we would be going to Bai Tu Long, a part of Halong Bay where only very few junks go. It was absolute bliss to be in such a quiet, peaceful and beautiful place. And our crew were friendly,... More

My partner and I just arrived back today from a 1 night trip on the Princess junk by Indochina Junks. It was worth the splurge to get a private boat with just one cabin for us and a private transfer along the bumpy road there. The views out there are very beautiful. The food we were served was great with... More

Just did a 4 day trip to Hanoi - HaLong. Hanoi is beautiful city with many great old buildings and temples, but not really well organised. Behind the beautiful flowery trees are dirty streets, and the long wall of ceramics is in front of many old narrow houses strangled by electricity cables Halong is a must visit. I booked Emeraudes... We are 2 couples (seniors) from New Zealand and would like to let travellers know that the Eco Friendly experience is a great way to see this beautiful part of Vietnam. We loved the swimming, the kayaking and isolation, great food and good company. If luxurious surroundings are less important than a great scenic experience you will have a great... More

I booked the day tour at Halong Bay through my hotel due to having limited time. I was picked up by my guide Suan ( meaning spring in Vietnamese ) at 8 am from my hotel. The journey is a little long nearly four hours to the Bay but thats not a problem and during which time Suan kept us... More

After recommendations from some regulars on Thorn Tree forum i booked a 3d/2n cruise on Halong Bay with Vega Travel. From the outset they were very professional and helpful and prompt with email replies to any queries. They picked us up from Vega Hotel (Nova hotel now) in Hanoi and drove us to the harbour, the drive was a typical... More

We had a fantastic time on the Dragon Pearl junk floating amongst the natural wonders of Halong Bay. The staff were so wonderful, especially Tony who was always helpful. The food was incredible, so much seafood! If you have time, do 2 nights, 3 days to really unwind and take it all in. The fishing village visit and Sampan ride... More

We booked with 'Glory cruises'. Admittingly the flashy images in the brochure were the reason we booked with Glory and the boat was new but didnt seem as flashy as the brochures. The cabin was loverly, the bed was good but not as soft as my own back home but still comfortable, and everything worked in the bathroom ( we... More

IndoChina Sails was recommended to me as the best company to book with to view Halong Bay. While I thought I had reserved one of the smaller boats (5 cabins max on the Valentine, for example), we ended up on a larger boat (the name of which escapes me) for 2 nights and 2 & a 1/2 days (don't to...
