"After 12 years in Phuket, the experiment ran its course and I was packing for Polynesia," says Gray, "but when all these guides showed up, I had no choice but to stay and do another start-up." « less

A very well-managed company that puts on an excellent afternoon/evening activity in Phuket. Everyone had a great time, they took wonderful care of their guests, the food was amazing, and the guides were especially spectacular. General Itinerary: Boat departs, catered lunch and trip overview Two canoe trips to see "hongs" Snack break Another trip out to see "hongs" Dinner and... More

We did Hong by Starlight as well (family of 5 - kids ages 12, 10, 8)... I would agree with all the positives mentioned in other reviews regarding John Grey and it's what likely sets this company apart. I did read some reviews regarding the potential crowds and unfortunately there are simply a lot of outfits running tours in the... More

Did the Hong by Starlight tour several weeks ago and what a fantastic time. We were told a few other companies do similar day tours but John Grey was the best, they were so right. This trip was a highlight of our holiday. The guides were fantastic, the food was great and it is hard to put into words the... More

Words and pictures are not enough to describe how wonderful our trip was. You will have to experience it yourself! Once we entered the lagoons in the different caves, oh my... so peaceful and beautiful. The scenery is amazing! The crew were fun, helpful and experienced. The meals prepared were delicious! We were like a big family and this whole... More

From start to finish this trip was very well organised. We were picked up from our hotel and driven to the port for transfer to boats. We were taken to a shop where last minute items could be bought, like sunscreen and insect repellent. Bottled water and food are provided by the tour but alchohol can be purchased at the... More

Word's will never describe how incredible this experience was. The sea was choppy, and once we got in a lagoon it felt like I was on another planet. So peaceful and serene. I will never forget this experience, and will definitely take this tour again. The crew were amazing, always keeping the young children entertained by making little sculptures out... More

We utterly blundered the pick up time from the hotel, and was like 30-40mins late. The hotel reception rang the tour for us, spoke it Thai, they came up with a solution. She got us a taxi, and we were greeted at the pier (30mins drive) by a long tail boat operator who paid for the taxi, got us on... More

The Hongs by Starlight tour was one of the best tours I have ever done. Extremely well organized. The staff are all fantastic, and while I was nervous of the caves, our guide Farouk was really patient and considerate, and put me completely at ease. The scenery was beautiful, and stunning and the kratong ceremony was a lovely touch to... More
