visited during the start of the rainy season so we didn't get to swim because the waves were too strong. But the beach area is wide and clean, great for walking

Bangtao is the southern part of an 8 km beach ending at Layan in the north. Here, at Bangtao, the beach is more populated. There are some hotels and restaurants and a local fishermen village.

Bangtao is a beach with a chameleon trait. Dotted with luxurious resorts and villas along its 6km (four mile) stretch of beach, and then on the flip side just a few minutes' away from the town of Cherng Talay, you'll find many villagers going about their ordinary lives as their ancestors did - fishing, farming and rubber tapping. White sand, clean waves in June. Not sure about other times of the year but for Aussies that are use to swimming at the beach it is good. Bit of rubbish left at low tide, some small local restaurants & bars along the dunes.

Not crowded and dirty like Patong. Waves are also a bit tamer so I felt it was safer for us to get into the water.

The beach areas in front of the hotels are kept very clean but if you take a long walk some parts can be quite dirty with rubbish lying around. There are a few beach bars and stalls selling clothes and beach items.

Stayed in Bangtao for a few days.Beach was nothing like pictures Ive seen.Sure its long and wide, but depending on what time of day you go there, its either clean or dirty(mostly the latter).Greatest part about it is not being hassled by vendors!

We visited this beach to meet some friends who were staying at the Best Western. We only stayed for the day and although the area had a good vibe, it was extremely sad to see the level of litter washed up on the beach. We much preferred Karon beach which is where we stayed.

A beautiful beach but unfortunately a great part of it is just used for some people to carelessly toss their rubbish...seems to be not cleaned on a regular basis which is a terrible shame as this ultimately leads to a crisis within the oceans..😡😡😪😪

Also called Laguna Beach, Bang Tao Bay is an arc-shaped six kilometer stretch of beach, one of the most beautiful and peaceful in Phuket. Driving past Allamanda and the Laguna Golf Club, a turn to the left after you cross the Banyan Tree Bridge , you find yourself in full view of this stunning bay. A short walk takes you... More
