Gorgeous Thai village with lots of little stores & great restaurants & bars suitable for kids/teenagers. No sleezy bars like Patong (stayed 30 mins in that hell hole) - bang Tao very safe, friendly, quieter but with still plenty of activity. Lots of Swedish & Russian visitors & expats which made things even more interesting. Beautiful beach with a food... More

We stayed at the outrigger laguna beach resort for 10 days, so this beach was on our doorstep. We went to the beach most days, if only for a quick dip in the sea after lunch. The beach was very clean, I didn't see any rubbish even on New Year's Day after there were lots of people on the beach!... More

We stayed at BangTao Beach and after having visited Patong and Karon we thought BangTao Beach was far nicer. I've read reviews about the beach being dirty but it certainly wasn't our experience. A nice white sand, a long beach and clean waters.

In spite of the clearing of the beach vendors and their ramshackle huts, the beach is filthy with trash and cigarettes left from foreign tourists. I was in the area in front of Bliss Hotel, and the creek was discharging orange filthy water adjacent to the hotel, and this happens all day, every day. Additionally, since jet skis were banned... I felt quite sad to see every place gone. I cannot sit on sand as recovering from a back injury. So cannot use the Beaches now. So sad Greenwoods, the other bars and Lotus are gone. Photos attached. Also no toilet, food or drinks on sale. Probably why the beach was deserted.

Clean, many people will try to sell you their goods on the beach. Watch out for the ones that thy to sell sunglasses. Those will try to take yours and switch with their fake versions.

Me and my boyfriend stayed in the best Western on bangtao beach! First day we walked along the beach the weather was fantastic and really enhanced the beach and the sea at its best and everything was a photo opportunity! There are many restaurants along the beach and many opportunities to buy drinks and banana pancakes which were fantastic! The... More

Perfect location for a short and sweet getaway! We are a young couple who recently stayed at a resort on the southern end of bangtao beach, and after a previous trip to phuket at Patong beach I would strongly re commend visiting bangtao if you want to experience a more relaxed side of Phuket! Despite reviews claiming that bangtao is... More
