There's been a lot written on here about the changes to glorious Bangtao Beach since the Army intervened last year and knocked down the structures that were (illegally) on the beach. We nearly cancelled our planned holiday to Chom Tawan villas because of the lack of accurate information around what had happened and how the beach is now. We need... More

Beautiful long, wide beach. Great to enjoy some water sports or just relax and enjoy the beach, sun and the water.

The beach itself is a wonderful mile plus long stretch of white sand shelving gently well into the sea and generally very safe for swimming. Behind the beach are an amazing array of hotels suitable for most pockets and lagoons left by historic tin mining. There is a lot of commerce and shopping opportunities at various points along the beach... More

I consider Bang Tao beach as the 6.5 kilometre stretch of sand starting from the anchored fishing boats to the tip at the northern end. Generally I walk the beach 4 -5 times a week. Today I turned back because as I walked north past The Dusit and Movenpick Resort Hotels I was disgusted by the amount of litter left... More

Travelled with two kids of 8 and 10. Beach is shallow and safe for kids. No stones and comfortable to walk on. Smooth white sand. The flag was red but the waves were small. :p

If you like sheltered bays with calm, warm, clear water this is the place for you. Clean sand and tree lined offering plenty of shade. There are a few beach sellers, who unlike some places, don't persist if you politely say "No thank you". There is also a spot on the beach where a few congregate selling their wares on... More

I love this beach, especially for families. We visited in February with our 7 year old twins and it was so lovely and peaceful. The water was warm and calm and the weather divine. If you are traveling with kids, this is the beach for you. It's away from the craziness of Patong but still has everything you need. Lovely... More

Title says it all. No waves, no snorkeling, just a pretty view and beach clubs. Bliss offers a pricey but adequate food.drink option and it is a place that you can relax

This is a nice beach and not so overcrowded like Patong beach, although slightly lacking in choice of good restaurants.

There is something special with Bang Tao beach. Lots of threes, close to shadow. Sun in east/south during the day and beach in west. And something special with the waves in Bang Tao beach, has to be percevied. And Laem sing beaxh is juat 1-2 km away. Note, we have seen lots of Thaibeaches.......
