I Had two dives here with ECO divers they chose this place as it was a pretty cruisey dive. I saw heaps of fish and the water was beautifully clear and oddly clean. I didn't make land-fall, but the island itself looked quite nice. There are more interesting dives, but the skill level need increases pretty rapidly. I have done... More

Take paradise and do the following: build a pier into the emerald waters; park lots of huge boats in the water so they thoroughly obscure the blue yonder; build resorts so that they cover the tree line; line up rows and rows of sun loungers (and then worry more about collecting the 200 baht fee for their use than any... Just went 2 days ago today and I went with Nikorn Marine, absolutely terrible organization and tour guide. The only good thing was the food and the speedboat. The whole tour was done in Chinese as the majority of the people were from China. Anyhow, I recommend to you to just take transport there and back with no tour, it... More

I can only review the diving in Koh Racha Yai (some people write Raya) as unfortunately we didnt visit the actual island. We paid 2,500 Baht for two dives with breakfast, lunch and free equipment hire. We are not expert divers and I once heard someone say you cannot compare dive sites (alas, I disagree). The boat was overcrowded and... More

We'd visited Coral Island before Racha Island. When we were near Racha island, our tour guide told us we could snorkel around. so the boat stopped and everyone went in with the gears. The waters were beautiful! There were quite a number of fishes and corals to see but be careful of sharp rocks at the sides. We then had... More

I signed up for a tour to Raya Island before I read the reviews here, and got nervous after I did, but I'm glad I went! I thought it was a great deal for 1000 baht (I got that price from my hotel, the price listed on the brochure is 2k plus baht). The company was Golden Region Travel and... More

I dont understand some peoples comments. This was the cheapest trip so it was understandable that the boats werent the best or the food wasnt the best but thats not to say it wasnt nice or that we got there any slower? Thoroughly recommend it but obviously if money is not an issue then just hire a boat and go... More

Racha Yai island itself was very nice with clear waters, but the tour itself was the same touristy cram a bunch of people on a boat and take everyone on the same cookie-cutter recipe tours. We did both phi phi and raya. The only difference was that on this tour, we had 40 Chinese tourists who had no respect for... More

Too many package tourists in the day, after 3-4pm then thats it you can really relax and enjoy the beach. If you can handle a hundreds of people squeezing in the same beach in day time then ok. The resort by the beach are well developed style, no eco friendly beach hut or anything like that. Personally I prefer the... More
