Phuket Butterfly Garden & Insect World has been in operation since...

Phuket Butterfly Garden & Insect World has been in operation since 1990. A most authentic butterfly garden, the enclosure covers approximately 1 acre of habitat for 6,000 - 9,000 butterflies per month.Visitors are free to walk among them and observing their behaviour, sipping nectar, and laying eggs. The breeding room tour explains the transition from caterpillar, to a pupa, and finally a butterfly. The place includes an insect world where interesting specimens and live insects are shown such as walking stick, leaf insect’ giant millipedes, etc.. Furthermore explore silk museum where visitors will see thai way of silk production.

Loads of butterflies

Loads of butterflies. This place is small but not bad. When I went they had cocoons on display. Worth a look if you like butterflies

After checking the reviews we decided to take a trip to the butterfly garden only to find it had not only closed down but they were building a new fighting arena on the site. Not very happy!! The website should be taken down!

Some of the activities in Phuket have something to do with animals. Most of them do not take good care of the animals, or they are drugged to not attack people etc. But at the Butterfly Garden, be assured, the beauties are flying around by themselves. You can feed them. And if you are lucky, they might land on you... More

Worth of your time to learn about over 4000 species of butterfly and insects. But it was closed since March 2015. There is no more my lost world any more.

Recommended to us by fellow travelers, so on a lazy day we headed here to explore. We were not disappointed but again it was just like a pleasant stroll in the garden. I had traveled to Amsterdam for work a few decades ago and visited the Butterfly House there and that was inspiring with many "Wow" moments that were lacking... More

There were a lot of butterflies when we visited. It was a nice outing for what it was. The gift shop is fairly expensive in comparison to some of the other shops who offer the same items. It was fun once, but I don't think I'd visit again.

We paid 600baht for 2 adults and 1 child. The place was a disappointment. It was run down and there were hardly any butterflies there. There was also an insect display but it too was ordinary and some of the exhibits were damaged. Not worth your time to visit.
