I'm usually one to leave detailed reviews, but there's honestly not much to say here. It's a beach - it's not terrible, it's not great. If you're expecting a world class beach you'll be disappointed, but if you're happy just to get away and spend time by the water it's fine. I'll reiterate what someone else said that's not really... Walked nearly the whole way along the beach it's really nice even on a red flag windy day, plenty of life guards on duty and not too many sellers, the sand is of a really good quality, and if it's windy some pretty big breakers, but this place could really do with a clean up, lots of rubbish, red bull... Karon beach didn't exactly blow me away. My wife and I stayed in Kata Beach and much preferred it. The beach could definitely been cleaner. I also thought the surfing was better in Kata.

What a disappointing experience PHuket was. Do not come for the beaches but if you're looking for girlie bars and nightlife there's plenty of them. Everyone wants to rip you off. There is a taxi mafia and the tuktuks cost 200baht fixed for short distances and can go up to 500baht about 18 us$. Should have listened to the nonbiased... More

We got a taxi over as we heard it was a must see. It was an amazing stretch of beach with only a couple of people there. We couldn't believe it having seen the crowds and rubbish on the beach at Patong. This beach was yellow sand and pristine and backed by palm trees. Nowhere near as commercial as the... More

This beach is big and the water is great- warm and shallow! There are waves so if you aren't used to that I can see how some would be intimidated. I didn't think this beach was too dirty- certainly better than Patong and where we were each time we came here we never saw any trash on the beach itself... More

The bustling Patong is the first beach one tends to book when it comes to choosing a hotel/resort in Phuket, due to its popularity and a number of readily available resorts around the beach. But believe me, minutes away is this haven you would never regret staying at. If you are looking for a relaxing and clean beach where you... More

A beautiful beach ruined by neglect. There is garbage and broken glass everywhere. You must navigate through the floating garbage as you walk in the water. It is impossible to sit in the beach or to go swimming. I have NEVER seen anything like this. The local government must do something quickly. It is disgusting. Avoid this beach!

We tried swimming at Karon Beach about 4 times, considering it was right across the street from our hotel, however each time we decided against it because the waves were coming in too hard. There were rarely any sections of the beach that weren't closed to swimming during this time as well. While we were there, we didn't see a... More

Nice beach, lifeguards on duty most of the time. Some water sports on offer, but a lot of dirt round the edges of the beach. Long, thin beach, not very wide, so generally not very quiet for relaxing either. Didn't get hassled too much by hawkers though which was a bonus.
