We were fortunate to spend the day with Chaya, doing her "Meet the Locals" tour, and what a fantastic day it was. Chaya is so obliging, picking us up exactly as planned. We were there during the Vegetarian Festival and Chaya gave us the interesting history and significance of this event. We went to the beautiful Chinese Temple (Tha Rua)... More

If you want to see beyond the shopping and party scene in Phuket area, this is a great way! The guide is passionated and extremly knowledgeable. She could answer all the questions from the group. Her english is fluent and it was extra fun that she seemed to enjoy the places we visited as well (I think she took more... More

This tour was the second we have done with Chaya of Phuket Heritage Tours. We were lucky enough to experience a tour back in 2012 and that experience has remained in our memories ever since. Therefore on this trip to Thailand we organised our itinerary with the specific intent of going to Phuket just to spend time with Chaya again.... More

My husband and I have now been on 4 of Chaya's tours and every-time it’s something new and fabulous. This time we were a party of four, who would think that it could just get better all the time and Chaya always seems to be able to come up with something exciting? This young lady is a wealth of information,... More

We did the Sunday tour with Chaya. It would be no exaggeration to say this was one of the best day tours ever, anywhere! Apart from eating fantastic food, we saw the Sea Gypsies' village, museums, temples, Buddhist nuns worshipping, monkeys, the wonderful Sunday market... but best of all, our guide Chaya was charismatic, friendly and knowledgeable. Listening to her,... More

When you stroll around an area on your own you may not get out of your comfort zone. The delightfully friendly & relaxed Chaya took us into little authentic eating establishments that you may otherwise avoid. Such as two sisters cooking fabulous hokkien noodles for 60 years in the same atmospheric old restuarant. And with great passion Chaya also gave... More

We met with Chaya the owner tour guide and had a wonderful day! First we went for a delicious lunch; our guide was thoughtful about our wants and needs; choosing the right restaurant. We then went on a tour to a historic house the Mansion, this was most fascinating. Thereafter we visited an old fishing village and Chaya seems to... More

Our family (2 adults, 2 teenage children) were on our 2nd trip to Phuket and this time we decided to go on the Meet The Locals tour organised by Phuket Heritage Trails. The tour provides information and a 1st hand experience of the history and people of Phuket, with a different understanding of the usual tourist experience. Chaya (tour guide... More

We were totally immersed in learning about the history of Thailand with the very personable Chaya. Her outline of the history of the development of the Phuket area was most informative and interspersed with amusing anecdotes about Thai family life. This was followed by a fantastic lunch where all the local dishes were shared and their ingredients explained to us.... More

Would totally recommend this tour hosted by a knowledgeable and funny lady. A great informative and fun day with lots of very good authentic Thai food. Be flexible though, you run on 'Thai time'. Have been to Thailand many times but this tour was much more 'local' and informative on true Thai culture.
