This is not a zoo it is an aligator farm, even the sacred elephant are kept in a disgracfull enclosure and have to beg for fruit( which they sell), we where absolutly horrified with conditions. It is a disgrace to Thailand which we love and we are very surprised it is still open,The world animal rights have a lot to answer... more

Myself and partner went to phuket zoo two years ago. We started with the monkey show, we walked out before we even sat down. Monkeys are chained at the neck while performing tricks for tourists. Watched the crocodile show, again left early. We walked past the elephants that could "paint". We couldnt bear to look at them. They were were... more

Phuket Zoo is a little eye opening. The conditions for the animals is a little sad. But a great day for the family. We got to have photos with the monkeys (for a small fee maybe 200BHT). They have Elephant, Crocodile and Monkey shows through out the day. Dont forget your camera/video camera!! Tuk tuks out the front for you... more

Ok, mark my words: Phuket Zoo is the worst attraction in the entire world. The biggest mistake you can make is to go here. The place is very tired looking. It looks like it was made in 1950 and not a single improvement has been made on it since. Walls are chipped. The pens are dirty and stinky. The actual... more

The Phuket Zoo was the only part of our holiday we did not enjoy. It was a complete waste of money and the conditions the animals are kept in is disgusting. The cages were small, concrete prisons that the animals just paced back and forward in. We wanted to get our photo taken with the tigers but decided against in... more

I am just arriving from Phuket Zoo and I am so shocked and still fuming about wasting 3 hours of my life in that horrid and expensive con trap of Phuket zoo (and before you ask, I stayed that long as my 4-year old was crazy to see the elephants, so I had to stay until then). First of all,... more

We went to the 'zoo' or should I say 'prison for animals' as a way to fill in the time with our kids. Two families together paying $100 per family to view distressed, strung out animals is not the way to fill in time. We left halfway through the horrid monkey 'Show' and were constantly reminded of the sadness in... more

Before I proceed with my review, if you are an animal lover, avoid Phuket Zoo. Travelling with my wife and two kids, we visited Phuket Zoo in mid-January 2009. On paying A$74, we received our tickets with 'No Refund' printed - hmmm - I wonder why. The zoo is very tired-looking and looks like it needs a lot of work.... more

We visited the Phuket Zoo after a recommendation from friends. We entered with an open mind and had the best day. We got there early (before the crowds) and were finished by lunch time and before the real heat of the day - even though it is hot all the time. The conditions that the animals are kept isn't what... more

Would not recommend this. Despite boasts of many acres it is very small and cage area for animals is smaller still. Note I don't really have an axe to grind, I'm not a dedicated conservationist or whatever, just an ordinary guy and I thought this zoo was quite cruel. Cages were quite dirty and animals seemed to be distressed. Price... more
