Phuket Zoo is a little eye opening. The conditions for the animals is a little sad. But a great day for the family. We got to have photos with the monkeys (for a small fee maybe 200BHT). Before I proceed with my review, if you are an animal lover, avoid Phuket Zoo. Travelling with my wife and two kids, we visited Phuket Zoo in mid-January 2009. Would not recommend this. Despite boasts of many acres it is very small and cage area for animals is smaller still. Note I don't really have an axe to grind, I'm not a dedicated conservationist or whatever, just an ordinary guy and I thought this zoo was quite cruel.
