My second visit here, the water is clean and clear, with practically no tides throughout almost entire day, perfect for non-swimmers and small children. the rates for most things like chair, underwater sea walk have doubled within a year, i came here in Sep 2014 also. you hardly get anything good to eat so advisable to carry your own stuff... You will enjoy the swimming areas that are separated from all boating for your safety. The slope of this beach is very gradual into the water and this makes wading easy especially for children.

Biggest beach of Koh Larn with the best sand but for me impossible to stay there because of people's massive. Hundreds of humans on every square meter of beach. Feel yourself like a bee in hive. Better go from the pier farther 300 meters left and there will be another little beach where you can make a deep breathe after... More

One of my favorite beaches in Thailand and an easy day trip from Pattaya. Highly recommend setting up camp at the smaller beach and paying for a lounge chair.

I don't recommend tourists to go to this beach, it's such mess. Crowded of chinese tourists and noisy by loads of speed boats. There are a lot more pleasant beaches in Koh Larn such as Samae beach, Tian beach, etc.

The advantages 1. Largest beach on the island 2. Some of the best restaurants, sovenier shops and hotels are located here 3. This is only other pier on the island the other being na baan for catching ferry back. 4. Ample water sports and water activity The disadvantages 1. A crowd puller so lots and lots of movement. 2. If... More

Tawaen Beach is too crowded, try other beaches in koh Larn... like tien Beach or the Samae Beach. I personally loved the samae beach as it is far from all the buzz of tawaen beach and an perfect place to have a great swim and also some amazing food.

Koh Laan is having other beaches pretty better than this beach....it's more crowded because of pier but one should explore other beaches less crowded and clear....but for water-sports lover this is the right place.

The beach beds are very close to each other, but the beach itself isn’t too big. The water was quite clear, but you have to be careful of the rocks/stones on the sea bottom, because you easily can get injured while stepping or diving on them. Bring your own towel, because to buy (250-350 THB) or rent (100THB) it on... More
