The statue is on a hill overlooking Pattaya. The main statue is surrounded by the Buddha for each day of the week. And the Buddha who looks after you depends on the day of the week you were born. The view is very nice too.

My kids and I enjoyed walking around the Big Buddha. We found that it was well worth the visit. My kids are 9 & 12. I thought they might not be very interested but I was wrong. They both enjoyed getting up there and checking things out.

The Thai people are very serious and take a lot of pride in and around that area. The view is fantastic from the top of the hill, The only dislike was walking back afterwards, You need to organize transport to wait for you.

Our first visited to the Big Buddha Good view but small. Not too many thing to do. The entire trip only lasted 1/2hr and we end up leaving. If you are planning to visit the Big Buddha, make sure you research for your back up because there isn't any internet to do your research once you are there.

I enjoyed the visit up to the hill to see the Big Buddha. Great view of Pattaya bay and good exercise, especially for a morning running.

Average tourist place to visit if you have the time. Go on a nice clear day as the view is excellent. Nothing special. Just another Buddha only larger.

Typical Buddhist temple with lots of gold statures...I guess I enjoyed the view the most. The kids purchased sparrows in a cage then released them at the top, but they were almost dead by the time we reached the top...a bit inhumane.

Big Buddha is pretty huge statue covered in gold leaf. Good photo opportunity. Try to toss a Baht into the stone to have a free wish, harder than you think! A must see is the muscle bells near the entrance.
