From the hotel i walked to the Big Buddha, the stairway consists of not many steps so it is not difficult to get to the top. There several Buddha images at the top, the biggest being the one directly at the top of the steps

The temples themselves are nothing special but the various statues of Buddha tell a story and are noteworthy. This was really taken back my temple, you can buy little birds before you climb up to the temple and release them at the top, there are many different statues with Big Buddha being the main one, it was really peaceful and you will have a moment to reflect. Must do is trying to throw money into one the statue... More

Been here many times, gone through the ceremony too. I'm not too into the whole spiritual side of it, but I find value in the experience. Never seems too busy when I've gone. I recommend it.

I visited this temple twice while I was in Thailand, The second time I was able to meet some of the monks. They are currently fund raising to add on to the temple/monastery. We were given the opportunity, for a donation, to inscribe names of family and friends on the cloth that the Big Buddha wears as a type of... More
