We stayed at the beginning of chaweng beach. The water is not that clear as compared to Koh Phangan and Koh Phi Phi, but nevertheless very inviting. The beach a water scooters and other fun stuff to do. Lots of restaurants, bars and parties right on the beach. You can spend the whole day here and still have things left... More

We stayed her for 8 nights and found plenty to amuse ourselves. The beach is one of the best (if you can look past the plastic bottles, lost flip flops, toothbrushes and General litter) the sea is a beautiful colour and so clear! There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the strip ( which is sooooo long) but we... More

What a sad place. This was our first visit and our last. The beach was full of rubbish. This was not washed in from passing ships but dumped by locals or tourists. Some hotels made the effort to clean up the area outside of their hotel. Decided to take an evening walk down the beach which was marred by idiots... More

How the beach has gone down hill. Its now impossible to swim in the sea unlike you are prepared to swim through all the sewage, smell and discarded rubbish. Someone really needs to get a grip otherwise the tourists will stop coming. The Full Moon Party is only once a month and you cant survive on that alone!

Its very sad to see how mass tourism has corrupted and sold its soul on Chaweng Beach with everyone chasing money. Fifteen to twenty years ago Chaweng Beach was voted one of the Top Ten Beaches in the World with its soft white sands, clear blue/green waters and a few beach bars playing music at a listenable and acceptable level. Twenty... More

Overall I with my wife enjoyed a lot at Chaweng Beach specifically our resort, Chaweng Regent Beach Resort. This is my tip to travelers to this area. Take from home or from Bangkok the simple medicines you need. Due to common cold problem I needed to buy a nasal spray. We went to a medicine shop just near our resort... More

We stayed at a beach resort whose beach was protected by the reef, further south the beach is exposed to the heavy swell. Very clean, warm water with great watersports. Lots of bars, restaurants, massage stands and the friendly vendors who can sell you everything from ice cream, sportswear to jewellery. Great beach.

This year was our third visit to Koh Samui and a daily highlight was to walk the full length of Chaweng beach each morning. Unfortunately, the state of the beach seems to be getting worse each year, namely the amount of discarded empty water bottles washing up. While some businesses do clean their section of beach, the jet ski and... More
