Not for me. Main drag busy, smelly and downmarket. Beach is good and loads of places to have fun if under 25. Reminded me of Miami during spring break or Magaluf minus the skyscrapers and any luxe hotels. Stay outside of is my recommendation and come in for cheap shopping & cheaper nightlife/ restaurants.

This beach is long and clean, the water was not as calm as other places in Thailand but it was good for relaxing and swimming. It was fairly busy when we went but there was still space to sit down and enjoy. It’s very close to restaurants and shops.

Really liked this beach, not crowded or over developed it had a nice vibe. We expected crowds of people and loud music but it wasn't like that at all. I think we were probably at the far end of this beach, took a taxi and told the driver to head for Chaweng Beach so he chose where to drop us... More

We loved Koh Samui, its an amazing Island to be on. The nightlife is fabulous. However one bad experience ruined it for us in a large way. We chose the preferred option of commuting by a automatic bike (a Honda PCX). Everything was excellent till we had a minor accident damaging the bike a bit (cracked plastic). Now we weren't... More

We were recently on holidays in Chaweng and spent a bit of time on the beach mainly reading and walking, in general just having a relaxing time. It is popular and busy but not too busy. It is interesting to walk the beach which is quite long and see all the resorts that open onto it. Adults and kids were... More

Too commercialized. i guess some people are into this. Goodlucl finding some sand to sit on. its practically all businesses, massage huts or rubbish mounds. This place is PACKED and does not live up to its hipe. The streets are busy as and very full on! Was not our place of choice.

Lots of bars and restaurants, cheap local open front shops. Massage parlours and a general good atmosphere everywhere you go.
