Best party in Thailand! Decent.. Beautiful.. Picturesque! Standing on this beach, one can watch every flight landing on the island.

Long stretch of beach with many restaurants and boutique hotels. Filled with many tourists, but the beach is big so not too crowded. Lots of food vendors with cheap delicious food. Also lots of souvenir vendors constantly approaching you. I find if you are not interested it is better to just ignore them instead of saying no. Overall I enjoyed... More

Over developed beach with lots of bars and restaurants. I would skip it unless you like garbage and crowds...many other better beaches on less developed islands.

I have been Ko Samui and Chaweng beach area, for over 20 years. I have to say changing fast. it used to have loads of budget accommodation, areas......but now slowly turning into all expensive hotel complexes. the beach used to be a real pleasure to walk along, but now beds stretch out almost to the waters edge, and it certainly... If you've come to Thailand and Samui in search of a crowded beach with no shortage of places to spend money and over run with people and waverunners, etc, this is your spot. If, however you arrive here and immediately feel the need for something quieter and more secluded, ask someone about Thong Takien Beach. (If they have never heard... More

Lots going on, plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and markets. Don't go to Chaweng for a quiet sit down :) Its the party beach. We had a nice evening there, plenty to do but nice to retire back to Lamai beach for peace and quiet at nighttime.

Chewang beach has many beautiful places to stay along the beach if not its always a short walk to get to the beach and what it has to offer during the day or night , from relaxing to swimming through to great massages or sitting back having a bite to eat or a few drinks with friends , its really... Chaweng beach has lovely soft sand in places. Due to the night life when the lights go down, the beach does appear to be littered in areas with cigarettes & bottles. This isn't too bad, but does spoil the area a bit. The beach is very wide & long, we went in low season & there was plenty of room... More

Although the beaches are spectacular here, there was not much else to like. The dining options are limited, the main strip is full of shops selling fake stuff, which is to be expected, but what was most annoying was the hustling. We quickly grew tired of people stepping in front of us or even grabbing us in an attempt to... More
