Crowded

A little crowded and a lot og "traditional" tourism. Busy streets and local markets with everything of all the things you dont need - but again a must, when you visit Samui

A beach full of life, food and fun. Cheaper than Chaweng and has great choices of good restaurants, street food and bars. A small but tranquil place.

the beach ok, the hotel sucks , the surrounding area of Lamai or chawang beach sucks the feel that it was dirty, run down like Pattaya and Phuket in the 1980s

We found this beach to be nice and clean, and walked it a number of times from new Hut Cafe to The Varinda at the other end, which took about an hour at a leisurely stroll (a few stops in the water maybe too!). It's not as short as some have made out and would be a decent walk or... More

Lovely place for a nice energetic walk, nice views out to sea and plenty of good bars and restaurants to choose from not to many sellers and a good stretch to walk, the currents can be strong here and because of the open expanse the winds and rough the sea up, waves can be easily a meter high, best days... Perhaps it was the weather this time of year (Feb), but the water was very rough. There were one or two people in the water. As an average swimmer it seemed too dangerous to get in.

Lively without the hassle. Great bars and restaurants and street food. Slightly more expensive for drinks however bars are great fun with the dancing girls etc.

Dirty beach, nobody didn't clean. The pictures from the internet was more nice. Maybe it was only because of the weather

My hubby and I enjoyed this quiet beach with affordable amenities like chairs for 100 Baht per day (we bargained to have this price for 2 chairs when they had originally asked per chair). It is a soft sandy beach and it was very clean when we visited, unlike other reports here. During our stay in Ko Samui, we could... More
