I stayed in Lamai for 3 days back in Aug '08 and totally loved it. Stayed at the Seabreeze Place resort along the main road, and from our hotel, one can just walk up and down the streets and experience a true island vacation in Thailand. Lamai's vibrant and festive. So far my favorate place in Thailand (as a whole Island)........sand,sea and sun. This town is busy most of the day and night..... super resturants, good nightlife (the sex industry is here but not as prolific as some areas). Good shopping (although Chaweng is better). Chaweng is about 15 minutes drive away and all form of transport there is cheap........if... more
