Good for souvenir shopping, bright and colourful and unique. Picked up some good locally made souvenirs and got to see a glimpse into the Thai culture.

While the statue was a little overhyped, the little shopping square below was delightful and the shopkeepers friendly. Enjoyed it so much we went back twice.

Big Buddha is a BIG Buddha located in Samui island, . One of the interesting things to do while there is to make the bells "sing" and try to respect the traditions by lighting some incense and do some praying if you like. Very important to remember to use long pants and leave your shoes back at the stairs before... More

We were on Koh Samui for two weeks so we wanted to take in all the sights and attractions of the island, I was more interested in this because of the culture rather than monkey shows etc. The big Buddha itself is very impressive, kids might get board as there is not a lot to do but there are some... One of the attractions of Koh Samui! Situated at a nice place, Big Buddha temple has a grand statue of Buddha. You can roam around and click a few pictures. And maybe buy a few souvenirs from the shops. But apart from that, there is nothing much to see. Good for 1 hr visit.

Not far from Paradise Island Estate where we were staying, we visited both Big Buddah and Plai Laem Temples. Nice but not wonderful.

I visited the Big Buddha Temple as part of an all day excursion to various places across Koh Samui. The temple yes, is eye opening due to the scale of the buddha it's self but besides walking up the stairs to it and taking a few snaps, there's not really much else to do here - Apart from buy random... Nice big Buddha, nice people but the washroom was very dirty. We wanted to use the washroom but it was so dirty and dark and smelly. I couldn't imagine the place like this font have nice washroom. I talked to the shop owner and she offered us to use their washroom. What a nice lady. Her shop is opposite to... More
