Great market, everything is so cheap. Lots of beautiful handicrafts, love it so much. Get there as early as 5pm because there are just too many stuffs to see. Nice food at the Tapae Gate itself. Must try the food, so far no stomachache. A wonderful experience! more

Forget the night bazaar, this market is the one to head for if you are in Chiang Mai on a Sunday. The stalls have lots of amazing items on sales for bargain prices and you can spend hours walking up and down whilst being entertained by street performers. We bought the most amazing oil painting whilst we were there amongst... more

We had shopped in Pattaya and Bankgok and we thought that the Sunday Market in Chiang Mai was just the best. Best fun, variety and food. We started behind Thapae Gate and spent a few hours walking up and down. We had the most amazing variety of foods, even the kids found stuff that they liked. My 6 year old... more

If your stay in Chiang Mai falls over the weekend, stay for the Sunday Night Street Market. There are other markets in Chiang Mai, but this one is a lot of fun: see artists making their crafts (like rope dragons and Christmas ornaments), musicians of all ages and skill, and more food on a stick than you know what to... more

Although a lot of emphasis has been placed on the Night Bazaar, to me, the Sunday market was the highlight of my entire trip to Chiang Mai. The stalls here are more organized and things are cheaper than those sold at the Night Bazaar. Everything and anything can be bought here. Food, clothes, shoes, accessories, house decoratives to name a... more

Absolutely amazing. We stayed for over 4½ hours and we only saw half of it. You can buy just about anything here and everything is so cheap and you can still bargain. There are also street entertainers, singers, dancers, fire eaters, fantasitc food stalls ( although we weren't brave enough to try the water beetles!!!) Not to be missed. more

I love the Sunday market. Here locals from all over the area are selling their hand-made products/articles. It's a real flea-market. For them it is an extra income, above their very low salary. The quality/price of the products is very good. It's lots of fun to walk around and very colourfull, so don't forget your camera. You can get negotiate... more

This is the real deal......hawkers selling their goods on the streets, slogging away whilst locals do their weekly shopping! Lots of good cheap local food and souvenirs to purchase. Doesn't seem as touristy as the night bazaar. Lots of jostling and bustling. Do check it out! more
